Patricia Field for Payless

We all know and love Patricia Field for bringing her fashion genius to the set of Sex and the City—but now we can all gush about the Oscar-nominated costume designer for bringing her badass style to Payless Shoe Source! Just take a look at these funky pumps and sexy boots from the Patricia Field for Payless collection that we discovered at, the online home of her eponymous New York City boutique...(click the pics for more info!)

The shoes are fun and the price is right, but part of us thinks we're just psyched about 'em cuz it's PATRICIA FIELD (we're powerless against the marketing masterminds at Payless!)... but hey, there are worse crimes. Oh, and we're also getting all hot 'n' bothered by the buzz surrounding the upcoming Sex and the City movie, which Ms. Field is of course costuming. Check out pics of the girls on set at Patricia's blog! >>

They are really very cute shoes! I don't know how well they're going to do at payless though, although they are trying to put more and more payless shoe stores in "better" malls- although honestly, I've heard people say that they won't go in them even in the nice locations. I guess they're trying to up their reputation, we'll just have to wait to see if anyone bites!

Payless could use a new logo, don't you think? And if they spruced up the front part of their stores with better lighting and displays, they might do a better job luring customers (like us!) inside.

i've got nothing against buying cheap shoes (just got a pair of suede mary jane wedgies by Chaps at Kohl's), but my problem with Payless is that their shoes are just too uncomfortable and stiff. i've tried to find shoes there for evening wear, espadrilles, canvas casual shoes, just about every time they come out with a new line hope springs eternal. no luck. they are just crap quality.
too many other reasonable choices out there - like aerosoles on sale, or kohl's.
