Off the Rack: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's March Highlights

On Friday, I scouted out the spring offerings from the LC Lauren Conrad collection at my local Kohl's, and once again, I found myself falling under LC's spell. With names like Coastal Bohemia, Shabby Chic and High Tea describing each set of looks, the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's collection is unapologetically girly. Feminine details, florals and vintage-inspired styling create a casual ladylike look. The palette of nature-inspired shades like teal blues, sweet blushes, soft lemon yellows and earthy ivory felt effortless and easy-to-wear.

There were lots of lightweight cardigans, pretty blouses and skinny jeans that you could mix and match for everyday wear. Standouts for me included a crochet-trim blouse (sale $34.99), supersoft navy twill leggings (sale $24.99), and two of the most adorable dresses ever (sale $41.99 each). I just wanted to run through a field of tall grass with a red balloon or something, wearing those dresses. Like I said, I was under her spell. Then I snapped out of my reverie and left empty-handed. As much as I loved everything in the moment, I didn't particularly need anything. If I'm still pining for that dusty rose dress tomorrow, I'll go back for it.

I love how you always feature the latest from Kohl's. It's my favorite store and I'm amazed how I just don't see them mentioned much in the blogging world. I'm dying to try on the mint green trench and first dress, but it's gotten ridiculous how much stuff I have already thanks to their clearance racks, and so far I've successfully kept myself out of this store. Can't say I'm not checking online daily for price cuts, though.

I love this post. I've been seeing Lauren Conrad's lookbook around the blog world, but I liked seeing the clothes in a non-photo shoot environment.

Also, on a unrelated note, where did you get your necklace? I've been looking for a gold coin type necklace everywhere and haven't found the one I'm looking for yet. Thanks!

I wear a gold chain and religious medal that my mom gave me years ago BUT I also just recently added a gold initial pendant to the mix, it's by a designer called Charlene K. You can find them for $35 at Pink Mascara:

LOVE the crocheted teal cardigan and the dusty coral top. I am going to have to stop by and check those out. Thanks for the heads-up!

I tried on the cream faux leather jacket. The color and cut are really cute, but everytime I moved my arms, the jacket made weird crinkly noises! I talk with my hands alot, so that is not going to work for me :-)

I was also disappointed by the color, it looked more pinkish online. Oh well!

Just saw your blog linked from Average Girl's Guide, love it already!

I'm kind of obsessed with LC's collection right now. I'm wearing one of her shirts right now:)

I fell in love with that dress you have on in the first picture but it was just too short on me, so I opted for the pink and maroon one in your last pic along with another pink & teal number.

This collection is perfect for spring, makes me want to throw on a dress and hit up a patio for a margarita.

Thanks for stopping by! I like your suggestion of a margarita, much better than running through a field. :-)

I fell in love with the rose dress on the hanger, but when I tried it on, it made me look lumpy. I have curvy hips, and I think the volume in the skirt just overemphasized that. It was sad. :-(

I loooove that teal trench coat! The bow in the back is just perfect. I having been looking for a trench for weeks now. Thanks for sharing!

Love your reviews. I also like your necklace and your boots, where are you boots from?

Wow, your Kohl's has way more of the collection than mine. I fell in love with a dusty pink blazer from her collection but the fit was just a little off for me. Still, I saw a lot of things that I wouldn't mind adding to my closet.

Where did you get your pants? I've been searching high and low for a budget pair that doesn't stretch out 5 minutes after I put them on, and yours look like they fit perfect.

The olive green cargos are by Work Custom via ideeli.com, and I must say they fit great, wash well and don't sag. Highly recommend if you can find them on sale like I did. If I see another sale with these I'll share! The navy pants are from the LC collection and I almost bought them, they were really soft and fit great but a little short on me (fine if tucked into boots but not good if you're wearing flats).

Like many others, I love when you review clothing lines at such affordable stores! I have been eyeing LC's line since you previewed the lookbook, but have not gotten to a store to try anything on. That is until I just got the 30% off coupon in the mail! Peeling off that little sticker is so exciting sometimes - lame, I know! :-) But now that I have the 30%, I definitely want to go try on some pieces and see if any of them are just dying to be in my wardrobe. Both of those dresses are super cute!

Not lame at all, I'm the same way!

BB, loved your dressing room pics, especially that incredibly ingenious back shot of the light turquoise trench - love it and the floral lining is a really fantastic touch in a budget piece.

Sigh...I ran out to Kohls because that teal jacket is JUST what I'm looking for. Of course, even the smallest size was huge on me. Does anyone else find nearly all of Kohl's clothing to be ginormous?
#14 Amy C on 2011-03-21 14:00 (Reply)
Amy, I completely agree. I think the LC stuff runs big, but the other labels are just ridiculous. The Simply Vera clothes-forget it. The smallest sizes are gigantic. And I appreciate that Kohl's has a petites department (so few stores do these days) but none of the cute items are ever available in the petites department it seems. Sorry for the rant, guess I am just glad to have someone to commiserate with :-)

Love the floral ruffle chiffon dress! Unfortunately, I didn't buy it when I saw it in the store. Now it's selling for 2x the price on ebay. I would have bought it immediately if it had the belt though... There is also a really floaty sleeveless ruffle chiffon dress in peach online that I am dying to try on. I also agree that the sizes are on the big side. I normally wear an Abercrombie/Hollister medium and I wear an LC extra small.

I really like that first dress you tried on. I saw it on someone else. How did you like the fit of it??
