i have a great pair of ankle boots, with a bit of a western twinge, which will be showcased today in a post. i have owned them for a few years now, so they look worn in and comfortable. they are from nine west and are a warm caramel leather. for such versatile boots that will serve you well through the seasons and the years, coupled with almost any style or outfit, i think it makes sense to spend a little more and get something of durable material that will stand up to wear and the elements.

i would love to own a suede pair, but the rain here does not foster a suede friendly environment.

My city has the same rain problem, so instead of suede, I opted for a more leather look with flat black boots. I got the Aldo Elfering, and they have become a closet staple.

I never considered flat ankle boots for spring... they look so good though! I'm going to have to try the look out.

All adorable! But I'm glad I've got this particular type of spring footwear covered.

LOVE it! Great picks! I'd love these, but with my short legs and big calves, I'm afraid these would make me look even shorter. Guess I'll just have to go try a pair on!

I bought my ankle boots last year for spring and fall, and ended up wearing them a lot this winter as well under long wool skirts and jeans. Truly versatile, just try pairing them with anything, really!

PS @cardro', I'm short and have pretty wide calves. I still rock them, mainly because they're so comfortable and cute and practical that it's okay. Or just look for one that hits more around your actual ankle than your shins!
