Last night I was invited to the Forever 21 Fall 2011 press preview event, and while I wasn't able to make it to New York to check it out myself (so bummed but things happen), the folks at Forever 21 shared some photos and trend details from the event. Here's what you can look forward to seeing in stores come fall 2011:
The Vintage Darling trend is all about turning old things into new by making it modern. Think oversized clothes and pearls, plus traditional blends of knits and prints for fall with a bite.
Boho will be coming back too, inspired by 70s music scene with a mix of Coachella for today. This trend is for fashion lovers who embrace their free spirit - girls (and guys) who are into music, fashion and blogging. Think "Just Famous" LA Music Scene, but "less grunge" and more style.
For their Midnight Angel trend, Forever 21 will be envisioning punk era hip style from New York’s LES. Bursts of neon against black will define the look. This should appeal to style mavens who take traditional items and alters them to suit their personal look (i.e crop top and harem pants).
Finally, a Rustic Cabin trend will draw inspiration from Navajo themes rendered in a desert color palette. Expect to see natural elements such as raw canvas and natural leathers, plus turquoise jewelry (hot right now, even) and desert rose bronze accessories.
