Net-A-Porter Launches Exclusive Coach Classics Collection

Net-a-porter today launched Coach Classics, an exclusive collection of five handbags originally introduced by Coach in the 1970s. With the current 1970s trend on the runways, Net-a-Porter's Buying Director, Holli Rogers, says this felt like the perfect moment to bring back these iconic styles and introduce them to a new generation of women.

"Coach Classics" include the Madison Satchel, the Stewardess Bag, the Duffle, the Shoulder Purse and the Field Bag in classic Coach hues such as British tan, mahogany, navy, red and black. Prices range from $298 for the Shoulder Purse to $498 for the Field Bag.

While these aren't exactly "budget" handbags, I wanted to highlight them as an example of a time when it's permissible to splurge, especially as a gift or to commemorate a special occasion. When Coach does classic, they truly shine, and these are five gorgeous bags that won't go out of style anytime soon.

The first one is very chic, but the others look like ones you could find in JC Penney.

Another way to get these bags on the cheap? Search Coach+vintage on ebay. You'll find some great deals on the originals and they already have a lovely worn-in patina. And for about 85% less!!!

Definitely a great tip! My only concern is authenticity, guess I'd just need to do a little research to figure out who's a reputable sellers for this sort of thing.

ajdematteo is definitely right! I've seen the Coach city bags go for $25 or less, especially, the flap over styles with the single turnlock. These are so classy and timeless.

You can also find vintage versions of these styles at thrift and consignment stores for a fraction of the price these are selling for. Plus they're already broken in!

I've been looking for one for years, everyone but me seems to find them! I did see a vintage Coach bag recently at a flea market but they wanted $$$$ for it.
