Off the Rack: Albertus Swanepoel for Target Hat Collection

Yesterday I finally checked out the Albertus Swanepoel for Target collection, a limited-edition line of hats by milliner Albertus Swanepoel priced at $19.99 each. My store had 12 of the 14 styles, with many items still available which makes me wonder if the line isn't all that popular or whether Target just decided to offer a greater number of hats so as to avoid selling out. The hats which I had expected to love based on the images in the lookbook didn't quite live up to my expectations so I left empty-handed, but I might still pick up the leopard-print hat. We shall see. What do you guys think of the line? Did you buy anything?

I went to look at them too and left empty ended. I didn't think they look well constructed. Maybe I'll get the leopard one if it goes on sale.

I wanted to want one, but I really just don't like myself in hats, so it probably wasn't the hat's fault. My Target was down to about six styles last weekend. I doubt they would've had time to increase their order after the Missoni fiasco, though.

Oh my. Not the most photogenic batch of items ever, are they?

I didn't like the fact that the leopard fedora lacked structure.

I loved the leopard fedora in pictures but when I saw it in person I was disappointed. Like Chandra said, it lacked structure, and the color seemed duller. I passed.

They look very poorly made which is sad. Just because they're making a line for Target doesn't mean it has to look like poor quality. Target has had some great collections!

I left empty handed as well. The styles definitely weren't for me. I actually strongly disliked some of the designs. I thought they were very unattractive.

I purchased the leopard print one and I love it.

I was just given the brown "miltary/camo looking hat. What outfit would compliment this hat?
