ZARA Spring 2012 Lookbook Catalog

ZARA Spring 2012 Lookbook

Here's the ZARA Spring Summer 2012 press catalog, which gives us a taste of some of spring's top runway-to-real-way trends. Some of the trends I can get behind include mint green, sheer fabrics (layered, of course) and floral prints. Some of the trends I can not: Thigh-high slits and mesh. For the reader who recently emailed me with a request for affordable floral print jeans, Zara TRF is your answer (that's Zara's lower-priced casual women's line). Keep scrolling, you'll see! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am ready to give printed pants a try. Who's with me?

Ugh! The printed pants look horrible. They scream toddler to me, and I don't think anyone but the slenderest person can wear them without having the 'I stole my grandmother's wallpaper and curtains' effect. This is one season I'm sad to say I will be skipping at Zara. Fast fashion is great, but their styling for some of these pieces is hideous. I'm not a fan of how many pieces seem to have random slits or mesh/see-through pieces up to there -- it really limits their use to weekend wear, and while I'm not afraid to show skin, these are a tad overdone.

Yeah, I could be down with those printed flow-y trousers. I've never been able to pull off printed pants, but there's a first time for everything. How is Zara's sizing in general (I've never been in a store, just have their website)? Does it run small? How about their pant inseams?

I really love the black mess insert pants!

Not my cup of tea. It looks a little bit sad for a spring/summer collection and print-wise there is too much going on.
