Off the Rack: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Holiday Dresses

Yesterday I stopped by Kohl's to check out their Veteran's Day Sale and was quickly sidetracked by the dazzling selection of party dresses from the LC Lauren Conrad collection. Thanksgiving is already next week (can you believe it?!) so now is the time to start shopping for all your holiday events. Luckily for us, LC makes getting dolled up for the season simple: There's the show-stopping sequin number ($60, was $80) that's still demure enough to take you from a family gathering to a club; a simple little black dress ($48, was $64) with surprise tuxedo-lace detailing on the back; a red dress ($48, was $64) with a sweetheart neckline and just enough lace to keep things fun; and my personal favorite, a creamy gold jacquard party dress ($48, was $64) with a flattering a-line skirt and bow detail on the waist that's so Kate Spade, without the Kate Spade price.

I also spotted some chic blazers in velvet and lace, brocade shorts and pretty sweaters for days you don't want to don a dress. (I went home with a heart sweater, striped dolman top, and a cobalt blouse with embellished sleeves).

There were some issues, however, especially with sizing. I tried on all the dresses to give you guys a better idea of what these look like in real life and found that I took a size 6 in the ivory dress, a "medium" in the sequin dress, a size 6 in the LBD and a size 8 in the red lace dress. My advice: Try these on in person! Happily, most of the dresses were bra-friendly, always a huge plus. Overall I'd say check your store or kohls.com for more options, and make sure you use your Kohl's charge and coupons to get the best deal!

i adore her line! i spied that sequin dress online... love it more in person like this! and, that black dress with the back detailing? Want along with the heart sweater. Her line rocks it in my opinion.

Word to the wise: The sequin dress really needs to be tried on in person. I loved it in the online lookbook, but it looked terrible on me in the store! For me, the small was too tight in the arms so I couldn't move, and the medium was baggy and frumpy.

So cute! Will check them out. Thanks for sharing.
Can you tell me what app you use for the dots that come out in your pictures? I've seen them with hearts as well and thought they were cute. Thanks!

I was wondering what would be a good way to style the brocade shorts for the holidays?

I went to TWO different Kohls stores looking specifically for the sequins dress, and neither had it!! It looks great on you!

@MEP - I hope you find it, but you should know that I had to really pose to make the photo look decent! The back is the problem - as others have mentioned, it's cut like a sheath so it's kinda baggy (doesn't hug the small of your back)- a belt might be able to fix this, or you might just like the look! To me it's very classy and has a vintage feel.

Soo cute! I have been really shopping her line - I'm finding that many of the dresses are made with higher waists and hems so that they flatter my petite figure better. I feel like since LC is petite, she is conscientious about how her designs fit and flatter her stature, which is great since I can't always find other brands that are tailored to my body without actively seeking out the petite section. (Or I could just be imagining that she designs like this! lol) Anyway, I took home the heart sweater too! Looooove it, so adorable and comfy! :-)
