Off the Rack: Kate Young for Target

Kate Young for Target in real life

This weekend, I scoped out the Kate Young for Target collection which launched back on April 14. I'm going to sound like a broken record but I didn't try anything on because I'm now 33 weeks pregnant. I did, however, inspect the pieces still in stock, which included such highlights as this star print Peter Pan collar dress ($49.99), this leopard print dress ($49.99), and these "Neema" flame detail pumps ($39.99). I have to admit the prices on this collection seemed high (I'd knock $10 off all the items I just listed), while quality was comparable to past collabs. I didn't see the one piece I really wanted which was this yellow beaded shift ($59.99) - so we'll pretend the credit card gods were just doing me a favor.

Did you buy anything from this collection? Are you waiting for it to go on clearance?

Those dresses make me wish I had a wedding or any formal event to attend. They are so cute! And I hate peep toe booties, but those may change my mind.

I'm still kicking myself for missing out on Wu's collaboration.

While I had high hopes for this collab, I stopped by Target late last week and was again disappointed with the quality of the items my store had in stock. I love the Merona and Missoni lines, but it seems like their collabs just keep using cheaper and cheaper fabrics, which is really a disservice. I'd be happy to pay the slightly higher prices they're charging if the products were going to last longer than 3 wears!

I'll be looking for this collection on clearence. Super cute, but overpriced for Target. All these collections are overpriced; I always see tons of their pieces on clearence(I guess that's good for me).

I wasn't impressed with what was at my local Target either -- I liked the yellow dress best too and it wasn't there, and everything I saw seemed overpriced. Maybe I'll scoop something up when it hits the clearance section!
