Runway to Real Way: Peter Pilotto Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear

Designing duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos' new spring collection is bold, eccentric and fashionable. Unveiled during London Fashion Week, Pilotto constructed unusual shapes and artsy details in a chic, innovative way. These next three looks exemplify the diversity of this collection and how I would alter them into Budget Babe steals. (Hopefully these will tide you over until the Peter Pilotto for Target collection comes out in February 2014!)

The meticulous detailing put into this first stunner is divine. The soft blue skirt embellished with white floral lace is absolutely beautiful and compliments this striped crop top well. My girl-on-a-budget take of this feature includes a generic cami, a mint colored skirt—detailed with floral stenciling—and cute nude flats. To accessorize, I added a layered chain necklace, and a ritzy clutch with snakeskin detailing on the sides.

Clothed in a floral dress shirt and flawlessly executed beaded skirt, this next model caught my eye. Instead of a full skirt, my real way interpretation included a rose print midi skirt, a pretty lace chiffon blouse and black high-heel sandals. Winding my budget version down a sophisticated-conservative path, I made sure to add a posh bag. For some finishing touches, try some coral peach lipstick and deep red nail polish.

Strutting down the runway in my favorite look of the bunch, Cara Delevingne worked what appeared to be a sunset-inspired get-up. To turn this enchanting piece budget-friendly, I added a mirror graphic mini dress, a classy faux leather tote, and classic stiletto sandals. I also included black triangle earrings and Rimmel London’s steel grey nail polish—it’s a must-have, try it!
