For anyone who loves flash sale sites like Gilt and Haute Look, or anyone who loves finding incredible designer bargains—prepare to meet your new best friend.
Just about a month ago I found out about The Real Real, a flash-sale website that operates just like the others we’ve come to know and love. What makes The Real Real special is its insane prices on insane designer pieces...I can’t emphasize enough how crazy the discounts are!
Prices on The Real Real run the gamut—you can find a Birkin bag for a cool $8,000, jealousy-inducing Chanel heels for $250 or less, or a variety of unique finds from Kate Spade, Rebecca Taylor, Rag & Bone and tons, TONS more. Since joining last month, I’ve gotten a 20% off code emailed to me almost every week, making the savings even sweeter.
...And then a surprise in my inbox: an extra 40% off!!! UM, HELLO. I bought a 3.1 Phillip Lim blazer for a mere $30 and a gorgeous silk dress. Then a few hours later, another email...50 (FIFTY!!!) % off! I almost cried when I bought a Stella McCartney dress I’ve been dreaming of for years for $76.
I learned after ordering that items are shipped from one of two warehouses—one located in New Jersey and the other in San Francisco. My order was split up into three shipments, one that came from the New Jersey warehouse and two from San Fran. The Chris Benz dress came a mere two days after ordering, which I was super impressed by. Maybe its just because I live on the East Coast, but the shipping from San Francisco seemed to take forever—well over ten days each, and tracking information was extremely limited. Very frustrating when you’re desperate for your fabulous new things!
But when my orders did arrive, they were in absolutely perfect condition. Each box contained an envelope with a return label, receipt, an Authenticity Card, a thank you note, and a card with information about consignment. The clothes themselves were tucked in cloth dust bags and wrapped in tissue paper.
I couldn’t be happier with my purchases from The Real Real. All three arrived in impeccable condition, and I really appreciated the thoughtful packaging. They were all such incredible deals—I can’t wait until its chilly enough to wear it all!
All listings on The Real Real are pre-owned, but are verified authentic by the company and a thorough statement of condition is included with the item’s specs—think eBay but without the surprises, disappointments, and bidding!
Even better? You can CONSIGN your used designer pieces for an instant $50 credit, and receive up to 70% off the final selling price. I KNOW, RIGHT?! They even send you the shipping label!
Because I love you, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite under-$100 finds on the site right now!
So go ahead and check out The Real Real! But be warned, it’s addicting...as proven by my TWO orders placed in one day. And if you have any other designer resale/flash sale site you love, please share the love!
P.S. We will ALWAYS tell you when a post is sponsored but since I'm gushing, I wanted to emphasize that this is NOT a sponsored post. All opinions and purchases are my own. ♦
