Decorate by Number: Wink of Pink Entryway

Pink Traditional Entryway look for less

In my 'Decorate by Number' series, I'm showing you how to achieve the chic decor you see on the pages of magazines and on Pinterest, piece by piece - and all on a budget! This week, we're recreating a stylish traditional entryway with subtle shades of pink. Check out the inspiration photo above, then read on as I show you how to get the look for less in your home!

The entryway in a home is often overlooked as it is not a space in which we spend a lot of time. Generally speaking, we just drop off or pick up our stuff as we head in and out of the house. Despite its lackluster reputation, I think an entryway is an important space that needs a degree of attention and inspiration. It is the first thing that greets us after a long day’s work and errands. Don’t you want to be greeted in a welcoming and happy space? I sure do! As for guests, it is the first impression of your home as soon as they walk through the front door. As you know, a first impression lasts a long time so make it a good one. Fortunately, decorating a positively presentable entryway can be achieved on a budget.
This entryway inspiration is traditional and feminine, but don’t be limited to the color scheme presented. You can add in cool blue hues to make it more crisp and contemporary or add warm browns and leather accents to take it from feminine to masculine. The key pieces here are the bench, a mirror to frame the space (and will help make a tiny entryway look bigger), and layers via the pillows and baskets. As with any space, start with the key piece of furniture, in this case the bench, and layer on as your budget permits.

The original picture is great and the Pier 1 budget mirror is a real steal! I wonder though - any budget steals for that awesome lamp?
