Decorate by Number: Black & White Flair

Black and white home office look for less

In my "Decorate by Number" series, I'll be showing you how to recreate chic interior spaces with budget-friendly décor finds. This week, I'm sharing tips on achieving a black and white office space that is flat out fabulous!

I have been lusting after the Saarinen tulip table for as long as I can remember and always thought it would make such a sophisticated, yet fun office work desk. The price tag forever haunted me until I came across an almost exact replica at IKEA for 10% of the cost. Oh, IKEA, what would we do without you?!
With the tulip table as a focal point, this inspired office combines a couple of my favorite elements in any space: Streamlined masculine with feminine flair. I generally find black and white spaces to be too stark, but the floral curtains and desk plant add a layer of softness and create a welcoming feel.

Below I've rounded up some pieces that I'd want in my at-home office, but without the hefty price tag: There are black and white accent pieces, two versatile chairs, a neutral jute rug and even a faux succulent (no watering necessary!) to complete the look. These decor dupes are high on style, but low on cost so you can make a graphic black-and-white statement of your own, without going in the red.
