Decorate by Number: The Glamourous Office

Glam office inspiration on a budget

In my "Decorate by Number" series, I'm showing you how to get Pinterest-worthy decor looks for less! This week, we're getting inspired by a super-glam office space. For more home décor inspiration, visit my blog, A Vintage Splendor.

I have a confession to make, although I’m bringing you inspired interiors on a weekly basis, my home office is a mess - as in non-existent. I usually work from our sofa in front of the TV, although I’ve been pinning inspired offices on Pinterest for months now. I keep coming back to this glamour office even though the style is a bit more feminine than I usually like, but I think I’m going for this and my goal is to achieve this office by the end of summer. Challenge accepted!
What attracts me about this glamorous office is the modern white furniture offset with the gold screen as a backdrop and elegant details to give it that stylized feel. It’s not overly done and is quite simple with thought out details to complement the white and golden space. The things that make this workspace work are the monochromatic look, which offers a crisp feel that is conducive for working for me and is quite minimal in fluff, another must for me in my work space.

What sets this workspace apart from other fresh home offices is the gold screen. The great news is that it’s easily achievable in your home at a low cost. You can create a own gold screen to serve as a backdrop or room divider in your office with spray paint and a sturdy wood screen for about $100. If you love an ultra glam look, you can turn up this desk a notch by painting the legs gold, too. If you’ve been stocking up on some home décor items a la my other Decorate by Number posts, then you’ve got plenty to work with. I like to move these décor items (trinket box, coral object, vase) around the entire house and change up the feel of the different spaces. Play a game of musical décor items and the workspace is glammed up and ready for work.

I hope to have my home office done – now that I’ve committed to finishing it this summer via the interwebs – and will definitely be trying out the glammed up golden screen and desk.
