We Review: Fitness Fashion at Kohl's

Kohl's Fitness Fashion: A Review

While we love shopping at Kohl's for the cute clothes, today we're turning our focus on the Kohl’s activewear selection! Armed with a giftcard courtesy of Kohl's, I headed to my store and found quality brand names, including Nike and Puma, that are all about the flashy neon and prints AND performance-worthy. So why not boost your own confidence and workouts with some new gear? Sadly the Kohl’s in my town was scarce on sizes and selection...I was mulling over my decisions for so long I swear the employees began to wonder if I was plotting a shoplifting scandal. Eventually I narrowed it down to three key pieces, altogether under $100 (with sales prices and my Kohl’s card) that are cute and adequate for my future workouts!

Nike Club Printed Legging $40
I had a really hard time corralling a final opinion on these. I am a Nike lover until I die…but I am not convinced I would buy multiple pairs of these. The thin cotton material is nice in a sense that the Club Legging will be wearable in spring weather without trapping heat like a toaster oven. But I also think this makes them more susceptible to those dreaded visible sweat marks, though the pattern might helped disguise it. I wore these running outside in my neighborhood, where thankfully there weren’t too many people around. I am going to guess that these are not built for high-intensity activities. Apologies for any repulsive images this arouses in anyone’s head…but the thin material felt like it would stretch too much (or heaven forbid, tear) and allow for unwanted jiggling. I’ll admit they are booty flattering though if that’s your thing. HA! Definitely make sure you have the right sizing for these; I found the waist and crotch area to fit looser than the bottom. The ones I’m wearing here are a medium, but I think I would have been happier with a small (I am just under 5’8’’ and 125 lbs. for reference).

FILA SPORT Core Essential Racer Performance Tee $24 (Buy 1, Get 1 for ½ off)
This top I am 100% behind! Though I encourage you all to embrace your wonderful, unique bodies, I will recommend this one to those ladies who like to be a bit more covered up! Normally I choose tanks when working out because I get overheated pretty fast, but behold a tee that doesn’t make me look a hot mess! My other fear with shirts is that they will either be too boxy or so tight that my arms stick out to my sides. Both traits would have me fidgeting a lot – a distraction you don’t want when trying to get a good sweat on! But FILA passed the test and I gladly took advantage of that second tee for ½ off. It’s the perfect tee to stock up on in an assortment of colors!

The zip-up I am wearing is a Tek Gear hooded jacket. I chose this one because it is lightweight enough to start off a workout with, but still thick enough to hold in some warmth when not training. Honestly, I have worn it more as a lounging around the house hoodie than for exercise…but hey we’ll just say it was made for dual purposes. I figured it is now acceptable to sport this springy soft lilac—I can’t be the only female ready to turn her back on drab winter hues. My only complaint: the bottom of the jacket wasn’t very fitted and a bit long for my liking. This exact top isn’t found on the Kohl’s website, so head to your nearest store location and see if they have any in stock! Or, check out similar hoodies by Tek Gear on the Kohl’s website:

Hi there,
I 'm thinking of buying a couple of those Tek Gear Core hoodies, what's the cotton/polyester content on them? I can only buy online and they don't say on the website. :-)
