Round 2: Here's What I Bought Online from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks
With only 4 days left to get new stuff on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I decided to buckle down and get serious and make some more fall purchases while I still had the chance. Earlier I shared what I bought in-store (here), and now here's a recap of what I bought online for all you fellow sale shopping voyeurs! Have you gone back for more? With free shipping, free returns, and my new Nordstrom card in hand, I found it hard to resist the following:

1. Sonya Renee Drusy Stud Earrings, $44.90 (after sale $68): I recently celebrated a birthday so I splurged on these as a sort of birthday present to myself. They are so sparkly in person! As a mom I find it very difficult/impractical to wear most jewelry but I never leave home without some cute stud earrings. I can wear these with anything to add a little shine to my look.

2. BP Long Textured Cardigan in Burgundy, size M, $31.90 (after sale $48): With my new bundle of joy due in November, I knew I'd have to find fall pieces that will fit my changing figure and work double-duty when I'm nursing. This cardigan is chic, cozy and I love the color. It's on-trend yet timeless.

3. Topshop Belted Trench, size US 6, $98.90 (after sale $150): The temptation to wear sweats and hoodies in the winter is real, especially when you have a newborn, but I am determined not to let my style slip completely. Having a cool trench to top even the simplest outfits should help. I hope. Haha! I love the gray color of this trench, which is surprisingly easy to match and I find the color to be more flattering on me than traditional beige or tan.

4. Steve Madden Grroupie Gore Bootie, size 10 (I went up a half size as recommended), $99.90 (after sale $149.95): I go back to black Chelsea boots season after season because they strike that perfect balance of comfort and style. While fitness fashion is "in" you won't catch me running errands or walking my dog in gym shoes. So that's where shoes like this come in. Classic, cool, comfy.

5. Topshop Double Breasted Cotton Trench, size US 6, $98.90 (after sale $150): Can you tell I'm really feeling Topshop lately? Everything they're turning out just feels so right...like this classic-with-a-twist trench in an olive hue (again, more flattering that plain beige on most complexions). I can wear this with jeans and slip-on sneakers or my new black booties (above), or with a dress and pointy-toe flats (heels have not been in rotation lately, let's be honest!)

I've loved hearing what everyone else is buying during the #nsale, and I'm learning a lot of great tips as I go (next time I will be looking for the NARS lipstick deal, 3 for $49 instead of $25 each!) What did you end up keeping/returning/going back for?

I just wanted to point out that cardigan is hand wash only, which is the only reason I didnt buy it. Perhaps it would be fine machine wash, but with being a mom I'd think hand washing items might not be ideal. Love the cardigan though! And those earrings are beautiful!

Ugh really?! I can't believe I missed that while ordering. So frustrating. You'd think Nordstrom wouldn't sell hand wash stuff at those prices. I guess I'll try cold wash/gentle cycle and lay flat to dry. Sigh....

I bought one pair of leggings last year, my first time shopping the Nsale. This year...I was a bit more prepared!
I bought a different color pair of the Hue WideBand leggings. They are the best leggings. I was post-baby and the wide band holds everything in. Worth a look at.
I also got the gold sparkle Kate Spade earrings, the Lorac eyeshadow set, and the Jennings boot in the wide calf. The boots are perfect for wide calves and so pretty!
I just ordered the Lush tunic in the pink/blush...as I think it will work so well with my new boots :-)
Tempted by the sweater you mentioned and a few tees...but will resist. I really don't need more clothes! :-)

Kudos to u Dianna for wanting to look good/fashionable while pregnant and when that sweet bundle arrives. Personally, just couildn't go back second time as too many bills to pay, too little month at the end of my money...

I hope to be more prepared next year too as this was my first time shopping the sale! Love your tips, I'll definitely check out those leggings. After my son was born all I could wear was stretchy skirts and leggings.

Here are a few tips I've learned over the years:

1. if you don't want a nordstrom card, get the debit card. Automatically comes out of your checking. Allows you to shop the presale and you get Nordstrom Notes for $10, $20 or coffee. Great for those shopping days.

2. Shoes and purses during the presale.

3. Your item is sold out online? Never fear if you go to a Nordstrom store, they will search for it in their stores and order it for you with free shipping. I loved this BP scarf that sold out immediately http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/bp-southwestern-scarf. But no fear -- if you wait until close to the end, people will have likely returned the item you wanted. I went in yesterday and there were 20 available across the country. They ordered it for me in 10 minutes. I can't wait for it to arrive. And this was an online only item.

4. They release new items throughout the sale. So do go back and check. I go three times -- during presale, at the beginning of the public and a few days before the end.

My purchases in addition to the scarf this year:

Would it be okay if I turned this comment into a post? Too good not to share!

And I love your picks, although I've never tried the Purity face wash I've heard it's the best. Loved those Steve Maddens , too, and used to live in heels like that because they're so comfortable but with a toddler it's like I'm playing tennis all day (lots of running, zig-zagging etc.) and have to stick with flats.

So funny. I just bought the same grey belted Top Shop Trench yesterday. I live in Florida so trenches are not necessarily needed but I loved the lightness and easy going style of this trench. Looks like it'll be easy to where with anything for work even in hot sunny Florida.

Great picks Dianna. It's so funny, just like you, I rediscover Topshop at this sale. They do seem to be doing everything right. Is it me, or does the quality just seem better? Love your picks!

I have been eyeing those Steven Madden boots. I just couldn't justify spending $100 on boots right now.
