3 Meaningful Gift Ideas this Season at Marshalls, T.J.Maxx and HomeGoods

Everyone hopes to find the perfect gifts for loved ones that will make them light up...the sort of gifts that show you truly care. That's why this season, Marshalls challenged me to pick out special gifts for the deserving people on my list. Because great gifts don't have to be expensive! To complete this holiday gift roundup, I stopped over at my local Marshalls (which has become a weekly occurrence for me as of late) armed with a gift card courtesy of the company. Both my mom and I honestly do love Marshalls, T.J.Maxx and HomeGoods a whole lot, mainly because it feels like a treasure hunt. I’m always pleasantly surprised by something else with every corner I turn. I think that even during the hour that I was in the store, the staff added more lovely gifts to the shelves (which of course I had to look through again!) So, sit back, relax, and get your wrapping hands ready because these gifts are about to be everything you need for everyone in your life.

For the Beauty Buff
We’ve all got one. A person in your life that no matter how in-the-know you try to stay (beauty-wise), they’re always three steps ahead of you. You find out about NAKED eyeshadows, they’ve had the palette for months. You try out plum lipstick, they’re already on to coral. They know the best products and how to use them (which is key!). For that person, you can’t really skimp on quality.

For me, that person is my sister. She texted me about three different products that she wanted including blush and eyeshadow. I always think it’s a little awkward to gift someone with one compact of blush or one tube of lipstick. I also know that my sister has an overflowing and dirty makeup bag. In my opinion, and probably hers too, it can never hurt to have another one. The wonderful thing is that Marshalls carries both quality makeup and really really cute makeup bags.

I loved these makeup bags that I found. My sister isn’t super girly so even though I found an adorable pink makeup bag with an oversized box on it...

...I knew that that one was not going to be her favorite. Instead, I found these really cool black makeup bags with rose quartz (Pantone color of the year) zippers and embellishments. I ended up buying the bigger one because it makes a really great gift bag too to store the purchased makeup. I definitely was tempted to purchase the smaller one as well and maybe hope that she used it as a pencil case or something.

For the Gracious Hostess
Getting ready for the holidays is tough. It’s even tougher when you have to get ready for hosting people at your house. To thank those wonderful people that open their homes to you and a myriad of others, you really should always bring a hostess gift. Don’t just go to the store and pick out something random, however. Try to make it as personal as possible. Even something as simple as a bottle of wine in an adorably cute wine carrier is a great gift. They can reuse the packaging for another hostess gift or use it as storage or decoration.

Marshalls had a ton of these really fabulous wood wine boxes (you can find similar styles at HomeGoods, too). They’re classy, simple, and super fun as well. I have to say, I was kind of obsessed with them. Every time I turned down another aisle, I say more of them and was tempted to pick out more. Think of how great it would be to should up to someone’s house with this. It’s not like a wine bag where it would be wasteful and they would probably throw it away. This gift could be reused over and over again.

I also really loved this gourmet cheese knife set. As someone who is not cheese’s number one fan, I was not exactly sure about the functionality of these knives. I did, however, find them super cute and I loved the rustic packaging as well. I thought that they could be paired really nicely with a cutting board, which Marshalls had many options to choose from.

For the Beverage Connoisseur
Something that I am absolutely obsessed with right now are coasters. I love coasters. I’m not sure why. I just think I have been able to find really cute coasters as of late, especially at Marshalls and T.J.Maxx. I was literally restraining myself from buying too many coasters. So, if you have someone in your life that loves coffee, tea, hot cocoa, bourbon, etc., why don’t you try getting them stylish coasters instead of their 10,000th coffee cup?

Nestled within the shelves of coasters, I found these adorable ones. They’re really more like catch-all dishes, but they could definitely double as coasters too. How could I possibly ignore the poignant quotes from the likes of Orson Welles, Rachel Zoe, Coco Chanel, and Elizabeth Taylor? They are minimalistic, but really pop with the gold rims. They also stack really easy and seem fairly durable despite being ceramic. Mix and match your own set of four and create a collection of your favorite quotes about style and fashion.

What are you giving to the special people in your life this year?

Disclosure: I received a gift card courtesy of Marshalls/T.J.Maxx/HomeGoods for the purpose of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

Lovely gifts for your close ones! The best feeling in the world is when they get their gifts and you can read their faces - smiling happily and surprised. The makeup bag is really nice and stylish. The pink one is not so bad but the one you picked is more elegant. Happy holidays!
