3 Ways to Wear: Combat Boots

3 Ways to Wear: Combat Boots
For me, the new year brings new chances to try new things. This year I'm challenging myself to try pieces that I normally would avoid. First on my list is a great pair of combat boots. Typically I've strayed away from the staple because I thought it to be very masculine and edgy, something that clashes with my personal style. But as the winter doldrums set in, I wanted to find boots that would keep me dry and warm, with a different silhouette from my staple motorcycle boots. JustFab Carlona Boot definitely fits the bill. Available in cognac, my fave, and dark brown, this boot has a chunky heel that adds a feminine twist and a knit boot liner built in! Plus it's just $42.95! Read on to see how I styled the Carlona in 3 ways, featuring pieces under $55.

Classic Prep: I love the look of a chambray layered under a fine-knit, lightweight sweater. When paired with black jeans and metallic accessories, it takes the look of the combat boots and upgrades it to a more sophisticated, softer and girly style. This sweater comes in navy and a light pink and I think either would be great in this combination — gray was just my personal favorite.

Happy Camper: For this look, I was inspired by several outfits on Pinterest that were styled with hiking boots, rather than combat boots, but the pairing works just as well with the military-inspired shoes. I love this olive vest, the gold zipper detailing looks great with coordinating cognac glasses, bag and shoes, while the shearling-style lining will keep you cozy and warm!

Luscious Leopard: I am a sucker for a good animal print. Here I've paired the statement piece with a slouchy greige sweater, burgundy sunnies and a chunky gold bracelet. The print's cognac and gold tones coordinate perfectly with the accessories!

I love the three options you provided to rock the boots. I would most definitely wear the last two styles that were posted.
