At first glance, Lauren Conrad's latest Fall collection for Kohl's looks a lot like past seasons, with feminine florals, pretty tops and essentials like skinny jeans and ankle boots (which we will gladly take one of each, thank you). But look closer and you'll see a wearable line that's totally in step with fall's dark romance trend as seen on the runways. Think lace, cold-shoulders, bow-ties, opaque tights and edgy boots paired with flirty dresses and skirts. Moody hues like mauve, moss green and merlot enliven the color palette.
Let's talk highlights: There's a button-front faux suede scallop-hem skirt worth noting - if you wear skirts a lot, you may want to grab one in every color, on sale for $33. This pleated midi dress (already on sale for $25) is something you could wear now with sandals and again in the fall with tights and a sweater. And this lace bow-tie blouse would make a chic addition to your work attire.
I'm waiting for the price to drop on these cool ankle boots myself. I'd get these cognac ankle boots, too, if I didn't already own two similar pairs from her line. (See how we styled them in this Rachel Bilson look for less.)
Everything in the LC Lauren Conrad lookbook will be available by September if it isn't already in stores and online at kohls.com now, with nothing over $70. Which pieces can you see yourself wearing?
