Summer Trends to Try 2019

Summer Fashion Trends to Try in 2019
With warm weather finally here, it's time to talk summer fashion trends! While there are many new trends this season, not all of them are worth your hard-earned dollars. So I've rounded up some of the best trends that are actually worth trying. Which ones will you embrace?

1. Denim Overalls

I am so close to buying a pair of overalls! I've seen lots of moms rock this look and my confidence is growing. What's not to love about your favorite comfy jeans extended into an adorable overall form? Okay, there's the problem of going to bathroom...but aside from that, these are totally adult-friendly and a fresh update on your go-to jeans.

2. Straw Bags

If you bought a straw bag last summer, it's time to bring it out again! If not, no worries, everyone from Amazon to Walmart carries this style under $40. Circle bags are especially swoon-worthy as are straw clutches, beach totes, and bucket bags.

3. Bike Shorts

We have Chanel to thank (or blame) for the biker short summer trend. You can either take a sophisticated approach by pairing your bike shorts with a blazer and mules, or go athleisure-cool with a crop top and Dad sneakers. I can still remember my first pair of biker shorts back in the '80s. My mother was so reluctant to buy me a pair. Mom, you were right! I'll take a pass this time around.

4. Lavender

Let's talk color! Lavender is a big color trend for spring/summer 2019. It's so lovely and ladylike on everything from dresses to accessories like statement earrings or handbags. If you want to be the summer's best-dressed guest at a wedding - or maybe you're thinking about Mother's Day - try a lavender hue!

5. Jumpsuits

Once again jumpsuits are back for spring and summer. With their one-and-done appeal, it's easy to see why! There are casual options for the weekend and dressier options for the office or going out. No need to spend a lot on this trend, we love the ones at Target, Old Navy and T.J.Maxx under $35.

6. Bermuda Shorts

I'm all about the longer length Bermuda trend! It's mom-friendly and easy to style. Not buying it? Styling is key to avoid looking frumpy. Show off your waist with a tie-front top or front-tuck. Extra points if you wear your Bermudas with a block heel or trendy mule.
