Target 20th Anniversary Collection

Target Celebrates 20 Years of Design Partnerships with Anniversary Collection
Talk about a walk down memory lane! To celebrate two decades of aspirational design at affordable prices, Target is releasing a 20th Anniversary Collection that will bring back nearly 300 limited-edition items from 20 past design collaborations.

This news is making me so nostalgic. Target played a huge fundamental role in why I started blogging in the first place back in 2007. The designer collabs were so new and so exciting at the time, and I needed an outlet to share my rudimentary try-ons, in-store photos and commentary. I'm sure my fellow Target diehards (and looongtime readers!) can attest to this.

Over the years, I had the honor of attending press previews & launch parties for many of the Target designer collabs, and it always felt so surreal. For someone like me with my background to be mingling with designers and editors that I had just read about in magazines - and then to be able to actually buy and wear their designs...it was a dream come true.

See if you can remember all the following designers joining the Anniversary Collection celebration: Michael Graves, Philippe Starck, Stephen Sprouse, Isaac Mizrahi, Erin Fetherston, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, John Derian, Anna Sui, Rodarte, Stephen Burrows, Zac Posen, Harajuku Mini, Missoni, Jason Wu, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Altuzarra, Lilly Pulitzer, Marimekko and Hunter.

To be honest I can't remember Philippe Starck or Stephen Sprouse. I'm surprised to see Hunter in the mix considering that was a huge flop, but maybe this time they'll actually have the wellies everyone wanted?

When we bought our new house and moved, I donated a lot of my old Target pieces to charity. And I still kind of regret it. I used to joke, why keep these?! It's not like I'm going to curate some sort of Target fashion retrospective (except maybe for my Instagram fam!). I donated my favorite Isaac Mizrahi LBD, an Alexander McQueen jumpsuit, Thakoon shirtdress, Rodarte leopard print lace dress and so much more...the list goes on and on. Well, now I have a second chance to purchase new pieces!

The limited-edition 20th Anniversary Collection will range in price from $7-$160 and will be available at all Target stores and on Target.com beginning Saturday, Sept. 14, while supplies last. The collections and items will vary by store and guests may purchase up to five items per size and color.

In conjunction with the collection, Target will also be releasing a coffee table book and a documentary film. You can watch the trailer here.

Are you looking forward to this 20th Anniversary Collection? How far back can you recall shopping these collabs at Tar-jay?

I still have, and occasionally wear to work, a pair of black Isaac Mizrahi flats I bought from Target all those years ago. Not really sure how I feel about that now.

No kidding! I had some bronze block heel sandals by Isaac Mizrahi for Target that I just recently parted with, they were the comfiest and went with everything.

I have a polka dot Tara Jarmon bag that, while I don’t often use, I haven’t parted with yet.

I remember that collection! Don't think I have anything from it. At this point just some Marimekko scarves...
