My Fab New F21 Watch

A striking timepiece makes a ::cough:: timeless accessory, especially if it has, oh, I don't know, a mother of pearl face that's encrusted with diamonds and finished with a crocodile leather wristband. In the not-so-distant past, such a luxury would have been available to only the wealthiest of men, and I suppose the real deal still is, but thanks to modern technology, any bum off the street can get a cheap, made-in-China version for just $8.50 at their local mall, courtesy of stores like Forever 21.

I find this to be quite amusing, which is why I purchased the watch you see above. It's deceptively expensive-looking (my Dad asked if it was Fossil), and after two weeks in my possession, it still maintains the accurate time. My one complaint is that the wrist band is rather stiff (what can you expect for $8.50?), so the watch itself doesn't sit flush with my skin. I'm hoping I can break it in a bit to resolve that problem.

Forever 21 has a great selection of watches under $20 on their website, so hopefully if my purchase stands the test of time, I'll buy another.

Shop it: Metallic Serpent Watch, available in 4 colors, $8.50 at Forever21.com

Have you purchased a timepiece from Forever 21? Did it break within 2 days or is it holding up?

i bought the same watch in black and it broke after 2 weeks, the watch was perfectly fine but the strap broke off the actual watch piece. it broke during school and i had to get on the floor by my locker hunting for that tiny silver bar piece to reattach it with no luck. other than that, when it was wearable i loved it!

Cheap watches aren't worth it, in my opinion. My roommate gave me a cheap, but cute watch last Christmas and I barely had it for half a year when the wristband just fell apart:( I've been so lost without a watch because I'm not getting a new one until this Christmas and I hope it's something as nice as Fossil!

Keep us updated, lady. For that little dough, I worry that your watch won't make it till New Year's!

Your watch is adorable! I too hope that it lasts a bit longer than the 2 weeks that one of the posters got.

Personally, I am partial to Michael Kors watches (I have 4) as they are well-designed.

ehh id pass on the cheapie watches. as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

i agree with deka, macy's is good for reasonably priced watches: kenneth cole, fossil, kors, anne klein etc... all make watches within the 85-150 price range. better quality and they are usu. backed by some kind of warranty.

Why not just spend a few bucks on a nicer watch band? If the watch is cheap-but-chic and wonderful, find a cheap-but-chic band to suit it.

I love forever 21. i understand what ppl say about its quality but honestly if you take care of your stuff, it will last, i have had 200 dollar watches break becaz i was being careless...it was one of the reasons why i went to F21 in the first place and bought a watch..i have had mine for a year, and i haven't had ANY problems what so ever. i am very careful with it and i don't sleep in it or somn like why would u sleep in a watch? some ppl do lol but yeah, it should be fine...mine is :-)
