#ShowYourHeart to Win a Trip to the Red Dress Collection Fashion Show in NYC!

I'm excited to announce that for the second year in a row, I've teamed up with Diet Coke® to be a blogger ambassador for The Heart Truth® campaign. I'll be covering the Red Dress CollectionSM fashion show live from NYC in February, sharing details on how you can support women's heart health programs and revealing how you can win a trip to the fashion show, too!

Participation is easy: From January 22-26, fans who upload a heart-inspired picture using #ShowYourHeart on Twitter and Instagram will instantly be entered to win a trip to the 2013 Red Dress CollectionSM Fashion Show in NYC.

Five lucky winners will be selected - one per day - and one grand prize winner will receive a shopping spree in NYC accompanied by a stylist.

And, since showing some heart is always on trend, throughout February, American Heart Month, readers who upload photos to Twitter or Instagram with #ShowYourHeart will trigger a donation by from Diet Coke to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (up to $100,000), in support of women's heart health programs.

Diet Coke is in its sixth year as a passionate supporter of the The Heart Truth® campaign, led by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).

The Heart Truth® campaign raises awareness and support for women's heart health programs. Women need to know that it's never too early to begin taking care of their hearts.

This year, Diet Coke is building momentum from the can to the catwalk as millions of Diet Coke packages will prominently feature the hashtag #ShowYourHeart for the first time ever.

I hope everyone who sees #ShowYourHeart will be reminded to spread the word - and support - for The Heart Truth®!

Penny Chic Little Black Dress Collection for Walmart

It's every fashion bloggers' dream to design their own clothing line (or shoes, jewelry, handbags - take your pick!) and one young L.A. blogger by the name of Shauna Miller has made that dream a reality. The Penny Chic by Shauna Miller collection of little black dresses hits Walmart.com in mid February and features 4 versatile dress styles that every woman needs. Each dress is only about $20 and will come in sizes Small-X Large and 1X-4X. A fifth dress might be in the works so stay tuned. "I worked extremely hard to create the most affordable, stylish, tailored, flattering, and well made, product I could given what I knew about my Pennies and what you ladies deserve and look for in a dress," says Shauna on her blog.

I love that this collection will be manufactured in the USA (a rarity these days) from fabrics that are machine washable and wrinkle-free. Shauna is one of the sweetest, most ambitious young women I've ever had the pleasure of meeting - I had the chance to visit her studio and try on one of the Penny Chic dresses myself during my recent trip to Los Angeles, where we got to tape some behind-the-scenes spring fashion videos with Walmart. I'll share some pics of me in the dress soon (the "curvy" wrap dress - it's ah-mazing, seriously slims and hugs all the right places. I hoping to collect all four!). My one suggestion? More colors please! We love a good LBD but I'd wear any of these silhouettes in trendy colors, too.

DIY Glitter Sign

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may have noticed that I recently hosted a bridal shower for my little sister. To make it extra special and add a personal touch, I wanted to try out a bunch of DIY projects so I created a Pinterest board to store all my favorite bridal shower ideas, and was especially inspired by this festive party theme as seen on Lauren Conrad's blog. I thought it would be fun to decorate the gift table with a framed photo of the bride and groom to be, as well as a phrase that would set the stage for the evening, which was "Shine bright like a diamond," a simple expression that my mom and I just loved and thought would beautifully encapsulate the mood for the evening.

Creating my DIY glitter sign was super easy, and you could easily adapt this project to any event or occasion. Or just make one to decorate your office or home! It can be any phrase, quote, motto or collection of words, in any colors or fonts.

The Look for Less: Case-Mate 'Kayla' Crossbody Phone Wallet

Case-Mate's colorblock cell phone wristlet is $88 at Nordstrom.com. I actually received one of these in solid black without the chain strap from a PR company and I didn't think it was worth $88 so I never reviewed it. Not to sound critical, but I thought the magnet that holds your cell phone in place was super weak and I wouldn't trust it to hold my iPhone. Ended up giving it away.

Then I came across this colorblock cell phone wallet at The Limited and was instantly reminded of the Case-Mate. It's just $19.99 and got good reviews from customers. And if you don't like the colorblock, there are 8 other fab colors to choose from! Click either image for more info.

My Mini Old Navy Clearance Sale Haul

Since I just got over the flu and desperately wanted to get out of the house, I decided to swing by Old Navy today to check out the clearance sale they've been advertising. I'm not sure when it started but it runs through 1/30/13, online and in-stores (prices may vary, select styles only, while supplies last). I envisioned stumbling upon the very last fox sweater (the one I featured in this post), in my size, marked down to mere pennies...but in reality, I didn't find all that much.

Still, I didn't leave empty handed. I scooped up a bright orange peacoat (pretty sure it's the same one Olivia Palermo has in yellow) that was $14.99 (down from $54.94). I guess not many people were drawn to the orange but it was my favorite color of the bunch! I also scooped up a geometric print dress for just $7.49, something about the print and cut gave it a retro-Tory Burch-vibe that I really liked. Both pieces will inject a little fun and much-needed color into my mid-winter wardrobe.

Have you been to Old Navy lately? Which pieces did you set your eye on?
