Julep Maven Review, Plus a Giveaway!

UPDATE 12/7/12: And the winner is… #67 Tori P. ! Congrats to our winner and thanks to everyone who entered!

Please note: This giveaway has ended and is now closed to further entries.

It's been almost one year since I became a Julep Maven, and I have to say, I am completely smitten. Each month, I get the prettiest package delivered to my door with two new nail lacquers, plus other fun goodies like hand cream, glitter or nail art tutorials. At first I was skeptical (when am I not?) but month after month, Julep brings a huge smile to my face. The polishes are high quality. The colors reflect my personal style (I'm Classic with a Twist). And they always add those little seasonal extras (like candy corn for Halloween or sparkly confetti for the Fourth of July) that make the packages even more special. To top it all off, Julep sometimes team up with top designers like Trina Turk for fab collabs that you just have to have.

Keep reading for swatches, an exclusive promo code, plus a giveaway for a Julep Maven intro box!

Sam & Libby for Target

Sam and Libby for Target

Target is partnering with footwear designers Sam and Libby Edelman to re-launch the Sam & Libby brand through an exclusive partnership. Sam & Libby for Target will debut with 20 styles starting at $24.99, from sandals and flats to patterned wedges and pumps. The ongoing partnership with be available at Target stores and Target.com beginning May 5, 2012, with fresh styles to be introduced each season.

A bit of back story on the brand: Sam & Libby launched in 1987, then got acquired by Brown Shoe Company from The Jones Group in August 2012 and reunited with its founders - so teaming up with Target is a smart financial move for the husband-and-wife duo.

I'd rather just see Target team up with the Sam Edelman brand, since it's one of the "coolest" names in the whole Brown Shoe Company family, but I'll reserve judgement until I see some photos of the collection. Are you excited for this collab?

H&M Spring Summer 2013 Video Lookbook

Take a break from work (or holiday shopping when you should be working) and check out the H&M Spring Summer 2013 video lookbook for women. Starring model Nadja Bender, the lookbook showcases many of the trends we can expect to see next season, including both fitted and oversized silhouettes in a palette of subdued, desaturated hues as well as contrasting darks like black. Leather is back in a big way, as are sheers, daytime metallics and lots of embellishments, from global (think fringe and patchwork) to edgy (studs and quilted leather). Shoes are surprisingly practical like flat gladiator sandals and western-inspired ankle boots. Yay for that. Jackets will be a layering essentials, from cropped to varsity-style to strong shouldered, balanced by skinny jeans with unique finishes and ankle pants. The overall effect of the styling in this particular video is a bit harsh for me but I see lots of individual pieces that I can make my own. What do you think?
