Where to Buy Cheap Skinny Jeans, Part II

One of the questions I'm most often asked is where to buy cheap yet chic skinny jeans, so here's a quickie post on some hot spots to shop for these highly sought-after styles.

Cheap Skinny Jeans at PacSun
Pacific Sunwear: PacSun has a very impressive, expansive collection of skinnies online, with prices we can truly appreciate: Their Hermosa Super Skinny line, for example, is just $55 for two pairs, and is available in 18 amazing colors and washes, ranging from white, cantaloupe and snowcone blue to true black, sunworn and rinsed indigo. Practically unbeatable!

Cheap Skinny Jeans at AE
American Eagle Outfitters: Recession? What recession? All jeans at AE are now just $29.95, down from $49.50, including a great range of fabulous skinnies. Talk about a stimulus plan for fashionistas! Check out AE for on-trend boyfriend jeans, skinny crops for spring and torn/ripped styles, too.

Cheap Skinny Jeans at Old Navy
Old Navy: I continue to hear, and see, good things about Old Navy's denim collection which includes the Diva, Flirt, Sweetheart and Goddess styles. ON's skinnies are not as tight as say, denim leggings, yet they're more tapered than a simple straight leg. The result is a skinny jean that's flattering for most body types, and easy on everyone's wallet.

Cheap Skinny Jeans at Forever 21
Forever 21: You didn't think I was going to leave out my most favoritest store ever, did you? Yes, Forever 21 has a fantastic selection of skinny jeans that bring in da noise and da funk. Where else can you get purple stone washed skinnies for $20 or acid-washed skinnies for under $30 (besides Salvation Army)? The colorful skinny jeans above are a fabulous find at just $13.80 a pair.

Where do you shop for cheap skinny jeans?

ahhh the only good thing about this recession... SALES..SALES..and some more SALES =)

i actually like forever 21 for skinny jeans.. mostly because they are very inexpensive and for curvy girls like me they have this really stretchy material so it doesn't look extra tight around the thighs and ankles..so i dont end up looking like a mushroom!

but i like those old navy ones u posted!

Since I have only recently accepted that skinnies can work on my curvy figure, I'm excited to hear of some spots to check for affordable pairs. My two pairs are from J.Crew - one bought used, one on DEEP sale - and fit perfectly. But that place isn't exactly a bargain bin, as we all know!

I'm glad to hear you've accepted that having hips and an ass looks amazing in skinny jeans. Cut is everything in a good pair of denim, and being a curvy girl myself, if a pair of skinnies look bad, I blame it on the cut. As long as I'm turning heads with my hourglass figure then I'll continue to wear my skinny jeans. You should do the same!

My skinnies are from Old Navy- I like that they are not quite so skinny on the bottom but just enough to pass- LOL!!!

The Hermosa jeans are actually 2 for $55 - even better. And so super that they come in different inseams. The tall gals of the world appreciate that. Now... I just have to guess the right size so I don't have to pay for shipping back and forth! arg...

Do you think it is weird that "curvy" girls need to accept they look good in skinny jeans. I just can't get over it. My friends who are the same size look great, but I feel huge! Any tips on completing the skinny jean look for curvy women? Longer shirts or maybe flats? Your blog is awesome. I'm addicted.

Stephanie: I'm a curvy girl myself so I rock the skinny jeans by choosing dark washes (like dark indigo or black) and wearing longer shirts or tunics with a cute belt. Or if I want to wear a shorter shirt I put on a long cardigan open over it. I wear both flats and heels but I particularly like the style with heels since I'm only 5'2" and it makes my legs look longer :-)

Stephanie: I think reader Cathy nailed this one! But I'm also going to put together a post to answer your question because I think it's a great one.

Weirdly enough, skinny jeans can be hard to find if you have skinny legs like me. My J Brands were a Godsend, but not exactly cheap even though I got them on clearance.

However, I've also had a lot of luck with Target skinny jeans (esp. Mossimmo brand) -- great quality and great prices too! I bought a pair from there several years ago and am still wearing them.

If you're 5'4" and under, you can get skinny jeans hemmed if you prefer them ankle-length, without changing the "line" of the jeans. :o)

I've had the same problem...trying to find a decent pair to suit my thin frame and skinny legs (without looking like chicken legs lol) ..but then I came across some at H&M that fit me perfectly! Theyre $39.90 and well-worth it.

my skinny jeans are the brand BDG from urban outfitters. They look great and fit great and are only $54.

My fav skinny jean used to be Aeropostales Hailey skinny, but they changed the way the cut is and cuts into my hip gives me bad muffin top.

i got some great $10 teal acid wash skinnies from a rue 21 outlet mall!

i love the skinny jeans at h&m too, they're super comfortable and affordable.

I agree that, depending on the cut and shape, skinny jeans can look good on many different body types. I have a friend who's quite a big girl and pear-shaped. She's worn skinny jeans, with the cuffs folded at the ankle, and she looks really fantastic in them.

Oh, and another source for really well fitting skinny jeans, esp. if you have the skinny legs problem like me, is Uniqlo. Unfortunately I think they have only one store here in America, I think in the East coast, but if you ever get a chance to go there it's really worth it. The jeans are of exceptional quality too.

My favourite skinnies are from Oasis! Affordable and a great fit. :-)

Old Navy is great, because they carry short in a low rise, which works perfectly for me. I usually take my niece to AE and PacSunwear since they cater to teen bodies.

JCrew...On Sale!!! They have the best sales all year round.

I am a CURVY girl with big legs and a big butt so skinny ain't TOO flattering on me. But I think I can make it work.

I just bought the red and grey skinny coloured ones from F21 cuz they were such a bargain. I'll post some pics when I get them!

One note about f21 jeans, I ordered a pair of skinny black ones before...they aren't that UNflattering but they are cut big.

I was at least a size 29 in all other jeans when I bought them but the size 28 at F21 was too big!

I just bought two pairs of skinny jeans at American Eagle like the ones you show here - white and dark distressed. I had my eye on them but I wasn't willing to pay the full price. Then they were down to $29.95 last time I was at the store. Great deal! I'm also considering buying the cropped jeans also at $29.95 right now.

Another great place to buy skinny jeans is surprisingly Target. Their Exhilaration jeans are great! They fit me pretty well - not too long, not too skinny, and make my butt look good! :-) They are about $20-$25. I saw dark red skinnies the last time I was at the store and have been thinking about getting those. Those would be fun for spring.

I've never shopped at PacSun but those jeans look good. I'll go check them out next time I'm at the mall.

I just recently started wearing skinny jeans and I'm barely 5' and my butt is a DOUBLE Z.. it's so hard for me to find jeans that looks good because my butt is not proportionate to my legs.. anybody else have this kind of problem? What jean-maker works for you?
#18 Mary on 2009-02-13 00:55 (Reply)
I own 5 pairs of the PacSun skinny jeans, and they are absolutely my favorite jeans of all time. they are so amazingly comfortable and I live in them year 'round. Not only are they cheap, but they are durable. I have had one pair for 3 years and they still look brand spankin' new!

I love my Old Navy skinnys! They're comfy and easy on the wallet and good quality. They also have different lengths according to your height. I'm 5'5" and I buy all of mine in regular and no hemming is necessary.

I've bought one pair of skinnys from Forever21 and they shrunk 1.5x after the first wash! I don't trust jeans from F21 anymore and the quality isn't that good.

I'm 20 and barely 4'1l...would skinny jeans really help add leg length to make me appear taller or should i get a different style? I get all of my jeans from old navy btw. Any advice would be helpful!

I am about 5'7 and I really love skinny jeans(on other people) but I've only bought 1 pair so far and they were too short and didn't fit right, i was so mad & discouraged. I'll admit that I do have hips and a butt so I wear a size 13-15, I'm not sure if I should give it another go, what do you think, any advice?
#22 vanessa on 2009-06-11 19:17 (Reply)
can anyone recommend a brand of skinnies that might work for these parameters?

5'4", petite frame, size 4, slightly longer in the torso, drumstick legs, and i have a butt . . . but it's kind of flat on the top and full in the bottom part so all the brands i've tried usually leave a big gap in back (old navy, j.crew, gap).

also, i really need to elongate my legs more so than my torso because i am already slightly long in the torso and too much elongation up there makes me look out of proportion.

I love wearing Old Navy jeans. It feels like second skin without getting that tingly feeling on your thighs like it's constricting your nerves. I get loads whenever there's a sale going on.

Actually I don't mind if I wear unbranded skinny jeans as long as it looks good and I feel good wearing on it. That's how I love jeans.
