The Budget Babe

In April, we reported Forever 21 would be launching a new contemporary collection, Love 21, and now we are pleased to report the launch date of May 19th.

Love 21 promises "sophisticated style at a price you can't pass up," and comes to us just weeks after the launch of Faith 21, the fast-fashion chain's plus size line.

Although details about Love 21 are sparse, I'm assuming the collection will be targeted at women in their 20s and 30s, which is really exciting news! After all, if you're just starting out in the real world, you don't have a lot of disposable income. Mommy and Daddy aren't there to help out. Bills, college loans, etc. are very real. And just when you get things under control, BAM you need money to pay the mortgage and raise kiddies.

All I'm saying is we 20- and 30-somethings definitely need affordable fashion that fits our lifestyles. Let's hope hems are longer and that there's more office appropriate attire in this Love 21 collection, too!

Back in April, I purchased a box of Smooooth Away Hair Removal Pads (aka Smooth Away pads) and bottle of Smooth Away Hair Inhibitor Cream at the New York City Auto Show. I had seen the infomercials on TV, then saw a real-life product demonstration at the auto show that "proved" they really do work, so I coughed up $40 (I totally overpaid, got caught up in the moment) so I could try them out on myself at home. I recently received an email from a reader who scored a vintage Ralph Lauren navy boyfriend blazer (so jealous!), and she needed some inspiration for ways to wear it that would be appropriate for interning at an art museum this summer. What a fun question! Here's what I came up with... I took the liberty of styling these outfits around a crested blazer but of course, any navy blazer would work equally as well. How would you wear a navy boyfriend blazer?

[1] Pleated cropped-pants with a slouch fit look sharp when paired with a structured crested blazer. A simple yet modern white top and peep-toe ankle boots finish the look.
