In an unprecedented turn of events, my local Target actually had a few styles from the Cynthia Vincent for Target collection set out early, rather than late. Hurray! I saw three styles, the strappy ring flat sandals in yellow and black, as well as the cognac wedge sandal and the ring heeled sandal. I wanted to get all four but decided to just stick with my original plan, which was to get the cognac wedges and the tribal print wedges (didn't see those yet), so I got the cognac wedges and I'm holding out for additional styles to emerge. The shoes definitely met my realistic expectations of quality and fit. I think they look great in person, fabulous on the foot and I can't wait to wear them! Shop this collection on Target's website tonight (they usually pop up around 3 or 4 a.m.-ish) or visit a Target store tomorrow when the collection "officially" launches. Faux leather jacket in gray, $29.99. Fit great and felt surprisingly soft!

Last week I wrote about spring fashion trends at TJ Maxx, and today I have a few highlights from my trip to Marshalls and the adjoining Shoe Megashop. In the bag department, I spotted a cherry red cross-body bag in soft leather by MICHAEL Michael Kors which I recognized from an online sale at Rue La La just days earlier. Similar styles sell for about $160 at Macy's; the Marshall's price was $79.

This morning I spotted the perfect boyfriend watch at Walmart by George for $19.50 in both gold and silver. It looks a lot like the popular Merona for Target boyfriend watch that I scooped up a couple months ago and have been wearing just about every day since. People ask me about it all the time (including some dude on the train who asked if it was real gold. Um. No.) Target's boyfriend watch was most likely inspired by Michael Kors who was inspired no doubt by retro men's watches which have been around for decades. Look for these watches at a Walmart store near you (I couldn't find them online).

It's been a week since the Garden Collection launched to much fanfare at H&M stores but I'm just getting around to posting my off the rack photos now. I went to 2 stores in New York City on the day it launched and tried on a bunch of stuff but ultimately left empty handed. Shocking, I know. It's not that the collection wasn't great, because it was. It was really amazing and had lots of strong pieces. But I stubbornly wanted the abstract floral dress with the big pockets, and I couldn't find my size, so I didn't buy anything. Logical? Not really, but sometimes I get weird when I shop. Anyways, my mall store has a lot of pieces still in stock so I might go back and get something.
