Pixi by Petra Spring 2014 Beauty Collection Preview

Petra Strand

Earlier this week, Target hosted an event showcasing the Pixi by Petra Spring 2014 collection, which is available in stores and online now. I got to meet Petra Strand (above), creator and the brains behind the beauty brand, and her team. They gave me a personal tour through this charming collection and really sold me on, well, all of it. Everything is easy and anyone can use it, which when it comes to makeup, and especially for someone on the go, is a must. One of my favorite items was the brow duo, which has a retractable brow pencil on one side and brow gel on the other. I also love the cheek sheens! You can achieve all kind of looks with Pixi's offerings, the packaging is adorable and best of all, everything is affordable!

Which items are you excited about trying?

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Cleansing Devices

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal: Clarisonic Cleansing Device

In this weekly column, I'm bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products (and their high-end equivalents!) that are available online and in-store. This week, we’re chatting cleansing devices! Also make sure to check out my newly re-vamped blog, HonestlyJamie.com for even more beauty product reviews and tips.

Now, let’s call a spade a spade, The Clarisonic really did get the cleansing device party started quite a few years back and, since then, there have been numerous copycat devices that haven’t been so good. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the Clarisonic (I own the Clarisonic Mia), but $130 is a steep price, especially if you’re not sure whether or not you will even like it. Plus, the replacement brushes cost $27 each and they need to be replaced every three months…no bueno.

Beauty Splurge vs. Steal of the Week: Argan Oil

Moroccan Oil for less!

In this weekly column, I’m bringing you my favorite budget-friendly beauty products (and their high-end equivalent!) that’s available online or in-stores. This week, we’re chatting argan oil for your hair.

You can’t deny that Moroccanoil has really dominated the argan oil market, but at $43 there were bound to be beauty dupes.
