Off the Rack: Cute Fall Pieces at Target

After dropping my sister off at the airport this morning, I stopped by Target to cheer myself up. The first item that made me smile? A silly owl sweater (featured earlier here), plus other cheeky critters like a fox. Fun! Next, I spotted jeans and cords in dozens of happy hues. Dark plum, emerald, mustard and rust orange are perfect for transitioning your wardrobe into fall. For nights out, I saw metallic gold denim, leopard print and edgy snakeskin that will look cool with a simple black top, leather jacket and boots. Since I'm on a preppy kick, I picked up a Mossimo chambray top ($17.99) that goes with literally everything, a plaid wool-esque blazer by Merona (looks super sharp for $34.99) and demure leopard print pencil skirt ($22.99).

Have you shopped at Target lately? What did you buy?

I was just there yesterday and tried on a bunch of the same stuff as you! I ended up buying the Mossimo tweed blazer (silver/gray) - I really wanted those teal skinny jeans, but the fit wasn't quite right!

I had no plans of going to Target this week until this post, but I think I might have to have that leopard skirt. The blazers are really nice looking too. And that fox sweater...so cute!

I was just there today, but didn't really look through everything. I think I might have to make another stop :-)

Well, now that trip to Target is a must today! I've been looking for a good and reasonably priced chambray top! I'm sure that won't be the only goodie that finds it way home though!

I didn't find that chambray top until I visited three Targets, and then, there was only one on the rack! Lucky for me it was an XS. I can't wait to wear it!

There was already some pieces I was planning on picking up, but those plaid blazers and those last dresses are now on my must haves.

LOVE being able to save $$$ but wonder if Targets clothes can hold up. All so cute - and so much better than J. Crew prices for the "same" look.
Thanks for the pics!

My policy is if it looks bad on the rack, it'll look worse after you wear it and wash it...so I try to pass on those pieces. The blazers looked pretty well made and since you layer them, you can probably get away with just dry cleaning once at the end of the season. Hoping mine holds up! As for jeans, the yellow cords ripped at the belt loop when I was putting them on - pass! However, I've gotten amazing jeans at Forever 21 and Kohls which have lasted me quite some time. Sweaters - I try to get on sale at J.Crew or Lands' End Canvas or department stores - I need wool blends for warmth. Ah, the joys of budget fashion :-)
