Off the Rack: Altuzarra for Target Review

Off the Rack: Altuzarra for Target

This morning, I wrote a post about what I ordered online from the just-launched Altuzarra for Target collection; now here are some photos I snapped in the afternoon at one of my local Target stores. Truth be told, there wasn't a huge selection, but there were plenty of sizes left for the items they did stock. I didn't find the sold-out belt I wanted (boo) but I was able to scope out the fabrics and get a feel for sizing, too.
Overall, I think this was a strong collection with something for everyone. The python print looked good in person (that's a print that can easily go wrong, regardless of budget) as did the blouses and the cozy heron sweater. The orchid front sweatshirt was a bit wrinkly on the rack. And the wrap dress I got looked really shapeless on the hanger so I'm hoping it looks better on my person. I overheard another shopper lamenting the lack of styles at our store and it's true, it would have been nice to see the trench in person and some of the other pieces. But I'm happy with my purchases and from the comments you've left both here and on my Instagram, I'd say you guys are too! Altuzarra for Target = thumbs up.

p.s. A few pieces still remain on NET-A-PORTER.COM and TARGET.COM - don't wait if you want a piece of this collab!

This is one of THE best collections yet! I also posted store pics with some reviews and I'm happy to say, the quality and fit were impressive for most items. I didn't get to see everything in store either (and I stopped at more than one, lol), overall major thumbs up :-)

I tried on the belt and opted to leave it behind. It was so stiff and plastic-y, it felt like I had a tire section wrapped around my waste.

Other than than, I LOVED almost everything else I saw in store.

I was actually disappointed by this collection. I really wanted the lace-up booties but they looked so cheap in person and felt very stiff. The material of the red wrap dress was very strange (felt like it left some kind of residue on my hands!) The fits were OK but overall the clothing was very poorly constructed. I was so excited for this collection and felt like it let me down. I was much more impressed with the clothing from Target's regular brands!!!

I got up early yesterday and was able to get the red wrap dress, the lace neckline black dress, the black flounce skirt, the black belt and the python t-shirt at my local store. The dresses are probably the nicest ones 'll ever own - the wrap dress is STUNNING, very well-built and it drapes beautifully on the body. If you ordered this you'll look fierce. Don't worry with what you saw at the store, the way it looks on the hanger doesn't do the dress justice!

I was disappointed in the availability. Sizes vary too much for me to try ordering online so I headed to the store and was there when it opened. My store which is one of the larger Targets had maybe a third of the collection on the racks and only one of each size. And it didn't have the dress I really wanted to try on. Why do something like this if you aren't going to stock most of the styles and in enough quantities to last at least through the first couple of hours. I got a top and a skirt but not the skirt I wanted nor the dress I was hoping to get -- if it fit of course. But I doubt I'll be showing up for their next designer. Waste of time.

It all looks so cheap to me! The prints and styles are way too old lady.

Sadly, this is one Target collection I'll be passing up.

I was excited about this collection and it wasn't bad. Stayed up until 3am and snapped up the orchid sweatshirt & blouse and crane sweater. Waffled on the blazer and trench and missed out online. I got lucky when I called a local store, and the lady said they had 1 belt and another store had one trench and the red & black velvet jackets in my size. SOLD! The cut of the blazers is awesome - fitted and look much better on.

I work at target and our store isn't even carrying any of it so...so if you cant find it in your store by now that's why.

I ive in San DIego and several of the Targets didn't even have the collection. One did, and the collection was very, very small. I didn't like the collection at all except for the balck and burgundy peasnat dresses, but they were too long. I don't like winter or fall collections at all. It is too hot in California and the South to wear any of it. I wish they would have more spring collections! I also wish Isaac Mizrahi would come back to Target. Yes, I know he sells polyester grandma clothes on QVC, but he had really nice stuff at Target over several years ago. The last several designer collections at Target have been duds- like the awful Peter Pillotto one

This Target collab is a disaster! Way over priced for the quality and the fit. The orchid maxi dress had puckered seams, not to mention the strange polyester fabric. This is the same fabric as their Halloween costumes and with a $70 price tag?! The red dress is sized only for petite women. If you are the slightest bit tall, it will look ridiculous. I could go on and on.

We all love Target, however, we need to BOYCOTT these designer collaborations until Target brings the quality up to par with the price.
