The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is On: Here's What I'll Be Looking for Today When I Shop the Sale

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks from The Budget Babe
At the time I'm writing this post, there are already 35,819 Instagram posts with the hashtag #nsale - that's right, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicks off today (to the general public, cardholders got early access) and the fashion blogosphere is in a frenzy to shop and capitalize on this annual event. Truth be told, I've never shopped the sale. Nordstrom came on the scene sometime when I was a teenager and when we'd take the trek up to the north shore of Chicago to the fancy mall, I always felt like an outsider and Nordstrom embodied everything I didn't have (ya know, like money). I know, I know, cue the violins, right? Poor me.

But a lot has changed since then, I'm a grown a$$ woman, dammit, and I can and will shop at Nordstrom. I will not be left out this time, ladies! I may be slightly intimidated but I'm heading to my nearest Nordstrom store to check out the deals...here's what I'll be looking for, but who knows, being 21 weeks pregnant may effect what I ultimately purchase. Join me on my consumerist adventure via Instagram. I promise to report back and share my experience and what I bought here on the blog. And if you've shopped or plan to shop the sale, let me know what you're loving/buying, too!

P.S. Thanks to a tip from a friend, I learned that you can get a bonus $20 Note when you spend $100 at Nordstrom with your Nordstrom card the day you apply. Should I take the plunge?!

You should definitely take the plunge and get a Nordies Debit card. No risk of running up a ridiculous amount in charges, early access to the Anniversary sale (you know, for next year) and you still can earn the $20 Nordstrom notes (we just opened one last week) and we already received one note already. I highly recommend it.

I got two pairs of Kut From The Cloth jeans. Regular price is $89 and the sale price was $59! I shopped the sale online earlier in the week (you could preview it, but not purchase without a Nordstrom card) and had them on my wish list so I could just pop them straight into my cart this morning.

Niiice. I couldn't shop for jeans on this trip (boohoo). Can't wait to see how you're styling yours!!

I love love Nordstrom! I've been shopping there for over 10 years. I can seem why it seems intimidating but I've always found their sales staff super friendly and helpful. And they have the best return policy. I've literally returned stuff a year after buying an item (and had buyers remorse)!!

That return policy in and of itself is a very good reason to shop there. Also I've noticed they carry items for extended periods of time, so if you fall in love with a basic tee or some other staple and decide you want it in other colors, you can actually go back and find the item. Hard to do that at fast fashion chains where things are in one week, gone the next!

I'm so with you, paragraph one! Nordstrom was for super rich old ladies in my mind, so now I'm over 40, guess it's time for me too :-).

Haha yup that's basically it! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Let me know how it goes if you end up heading over.
