Fall Outfit Pinspiration: Merlot Sweater, Camo Pants and Cognac Boots

Fall outfit featuring burgundy sweater, camo pants and cognac ankle boots
I've got another fall outfit for you ladies today inspired by a look I found on Pinterest. It's a really good combination of rich fall colors and textures that's easy to wear yet makes a chic fashion statement. First, I'll start by saying that I found awesome camo pants at Sears and Forever 21 just this past week at the mall. However. I can't find either pair online! Figures. So I've rounded up some other options for you in case you can't make it to a store (but I highly recommend you check Sears for the camo pants featured above first, they're just $12.99 by Bongo!)

Keep reading for my look for less picks!

Some more camo pant options:

On my next trip to Kohl's, I'll be hunting for these So Camo Pants in the juniors section. Just $17.99 on sale online and the print is spot-on!

These Jolt Camo Cargos are just $29.99 now on sale at Macy's (juniors sizing).

Wet Seal has a plus-size option that's just $21.99 HERE.

For the haute mama-to-be, A Pea in the Pod carries these chic camo pants. Warning: They're $88! But super cool.

If you're shopping at ASOS.com, add these camo pants to your basket. Great look for $58.

And if I were going to splurge (which I won't, but a girl can dream), I'd opt for True Religion's 'Casey' camo pants with their muted olive tones. So good. ($178 at Nordstrom.com)

Now, on to the burgundy/merlot/oxblood sweater:

The Forever 21 sweater I spotted in store (shown in my photo above) is available HERE for just $29.90. Make no mistake, Forever 21 makes good sweaters. Seriously. I've purchased some really comfy, cozy sweaters from Forever 21 that look better and wear better than sweaters that cost twice as much. I won't name names but sometimes you pay more but don't get more. Wash cold, lay flat to dry and you'll be good to go.

Love this plus-size option for $22.90 available HERE.

If you want a lighter weight, more streamlined look on top, this Merona sweater at Target is the right color and the right price, just $19.99.

I've seen similar sweaters at Old Navy this season, too, but can't find any online. If it's too hot for sweater weather where you live, try rocking this look with a loose tee like this one - apparently Katie Holmes loves it, too! See all her Old Navy fall picks HERE.

Finally, the cognac boots:

The pair I've shown above is the Chaps 'Sabra' now $39.99 at kohls.com. I tried these on in store, fit is true to size. Don't pay more than $40 for these, they look great in person but quality doesn't feel all that amazing. I think they'll be comfy and hold up well. The color is rather orangey in real life so keep that in mind. They photograph well, though, if you're a blogger! Kinda wishing I had bought these...

Other options I'm loving are these ankle boots at Old Navy, look super cute in person, currently $36.94 at oldnavy.com.

I also love the look of the Mossimo 'Geneva' ankle boot, very on-trend yet classic and hits that perfect cognac color note. Love!

So that's it for today, let me know if you recreate this look and tag me on Instagram so I can see your fabulous outfits! I will totally be copying this look as soon as I find maternity camo pants for super cheap or I'll just wait until after baby comes.

Hi Dianna, I, too, want to comment on the color/sweater on today's post, burgundy with camo, didn't realize I was in style with that look, I bought pants from Wal-Mart a year ago, sweater from sale at Barney's warehouse. Don't have the brown/tan boots but they're on my list. As to the naysayer on your pregnancy (Instagram 10/6/15,), that was rude, just a little too subjective. I looked the same when I was pregnancy with my #1 daughter, she was a healthy, 8 lbs+ baby. I have been a fan of yours since you started, love your comments, and taste in clothes. I have been a fashionista since the '60's..yes, I am 70 something..another sort of discrimation...keep up your wonderful blog!

That would be my suggestion, too, do some rearranging! Also sometimes the right makeup or lipstick color can help alleviate the sallow-ing effect of mustard yellow against many skintones.

If I, ahem, might add a comment to mustard color and skin...true many skin tones don't do well with the color at all..suggestion I have are wearing scarf as a belt on jeans or slacks,, small clutch in color or even socks! Its such a great, fall color..

Ooh I'd like to see those! My mom stopped wearing Clarks when they started making them in China but didn't really drop the prices...wonder how quality is these days...

Hi Dianna. I love this series you are doing! Thank you. I went to Kohl's in search of the camo pants shown above, but I didn't find those. I did find a pair by UnionBay for $27.99. They are considered a jegging, but look like skinny jeans, and have great dark, rich colors. Now I am looking for the perfect burgundy sweater, and just may have to click your link and buy the Forever 21 sweater. Boots are next in the cognac color. Thanks again, and I hope you will keep up the Pinterest series. :-)

Thanks for the tip, I will look for those on my next trip, haven't had a chance to stop there this week but hopefully I will get there soon. The jeggings might actually fit me while pregnant! So glad you're enjoying this series, I'll keep adding new looks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for including a t-shirt option in your looks! We are so hot here in FL (90 degrees most days) that the mere thought of a thick chunky sweater sends me running to the freezer for some cold air! There will be a few sweater weather days, but not until after Christmas (maybe; hopefully). Love your blog :-)

You're welcome, I've been hearing from readers in California as well - I will try to include more hot temp options!
