Fall Outfit Pinspiration: Quilted Jacket, Blanket Scarf and Camel Sweater

Fall outfit inspiration featuring blanket scarf, quilted jacket and camel sweater
Is there anything more quintessentially fall than a plaid scarf? Paired with a classic quilted jacket and camel sweater, it's an autumnal fashion match made in heaven, as demonstrated by this look I found on Pinterest (HERE). You might already have all the pieces necessary to recreate this look in your closet, but if not, read on for my budget friendly finds - everything I photographed for the collage (above right) is under $40!

The jacket:

The quilted jacket shown above (right) is this Merona jacket ($39.99 at target.com), which comes in a variety of colors. It has that classic Burberry look for a lot less (see for example this Burberry jacket, $595 at neimanmarcus.com). Of course this isn't an investment piece you'll keep for years but it's a great way to try the look and see if you love it. Target.com is offering a buy 2 save 20%, buy 3 save 30% on clothing, jewelry and accessories deal right now, so consider that a plus!

Your next best option is to look at a brand like Lands' End - this quilted jacket looks great for $89.99 - or a brand like Lauren Ralph Lauren, whose stylish quilted jacket is now $99.90 at nordstrom.com. Hmmm now I think I kinda need this jacket, too!

The sweater:

Of course I can't find the exact Merona cowlneck top shown in my collage on target.com, but these are available in stores now in camel, gray and I believe black as well.

Here's a similar top but they don't have camel, just off-white.

Joe Fresh has really nice sweaters at great price points. This crew neck cable knit sweater is a steal at $19.94. Okay so it's ecru, not camel. But check in stores, they have a wide selection!

Forever 21 always seems to have what I'm looking for! Check out this camel turtleneck sweater, just $22.80.

Kinda obsessed with this sleeveless turtleneck sweater, too. You can do some spectacular layering with this one.

The blanket scarf:

First, check out yesterday's post for lots of tips on where to buy a cheap blanket scarf!

But it's a new day, and I've got new finds! The scarf shown above was snapped at a boutique called Lou Lou. We have one here in my town, but they don't have many brick and mortar locations. Small accessories boutiques are a great source for blanket scarves, they're a bit more expensive than the big box stores (they buy in smaller quantities) but the one above was just $35. Shop it HERE.

Joe Fresh has this amazing plaid scarf ($39) that looks nearly identical to the one shown in the Pinterest photo above. Love! Typically the price will give you some indication of the scarf's size but be sure to check the product specs before you buy.

Finally, I just discovered Dynamite Clothing - I haven't purchased from them yet, but they have a sweet selection of blanket scarves under $30! See them all HERE. Hard to pick one favorite!

I hope you're enjoying this Pinspiration series - thank you so much for all your kind comments and support on Instagram, too! I love putting these together and I'm glad you guys find them useful as well.

i try try try to accept the blanket scarf but i think it would just swallow me. I got away from wearing a blanket while hanging out at home when i was cold. IDK. Maybe i am wrong but it just seems bizarre!

Have you seen Extra Petite? She's under 5 feet I believe and rocks the blanket scarf look! Having said that, my issue with the blanket scarves is they move around a lot and don't work when you're say, eating or washing dishes or running around the playground. Anyways I tend do to the pretzel knot scarf tie which makes the scarf look a bit streamlined and it stays in place all day! I would google this on YouTube if you're not familiar with the technique, that's how I learned (after much practice!) :-)

Haha I love hearing that! Spoiler alert: I tend to post late at night after my son goes to sleep and I'm done tidying up the disaster which is my house LOL. I'm trying to repost the Instagram looks on the blog too to make them easier to access/search, too. Thanks for the feedback!

Perfect fall look! Target has so many great scarves right now, but many of them are in-store only. I have a buffalo plaid one just like this that I love.

Love the look and the idea of finding things for less and posting it. I do this all the time for myself especially when I thrift but I hadn't thought to put it in posts. Great idea!

I've tried blanket scarves but they look kinda silly on me. I'll stick to the regular scarves and I bought that one from Joe Fresh - it's such a good buy!
