Four Leopard Print Cardigans: Would You Wear One?

The prim and proper cardigan is taken up a notch with a wild animal print, which makes the leopard print cardigan the perfect mix of naughty and nice—or is it? I've seen leopard print cardigans just about everywhere from J.Crew to Target. So far, I haven't taken the bait. My instincts tell me that the inexpensive ones look cheap and the expensive ones are too pricey for something I can't wear very often. What do you think, are leopard print cardigans spot on or do they miss the mark?

I hear you about the cheap, but I think an inexpensive leopard cardi could be elevated by the right accessories. I'd totally sport this look.

I think the leopard cardigan is a good neutral actually. I love the options you presented.

I've been wearing leopard print since I was young, when my mother was in charge of my wardrobe! I do like it, but I think it's been overdone, and I prefer it when it's worn more subtly. For example, I have some leopard-print insoles inside a pair of simple black ballet pumps. And I like leopard print in different colors - I think French Connection has some great black and gray leopard print leggings. So I'm not sure about the "conventional" leopard print cardi, but I do like little added touches of it in other places! :-)

I tend to go for something a little simpler than leopard. It's not a look I can pull off. Although #4 is catching my eye!

The hostess at dinner last night had on cardi number 2..it looked adorable on her! That one is my favorite! I also like NY&C's, cute for work.

I actually prefer animal prints in unrealistic colors best (not as found in nature), I have a Target cardigan from last year in black and grey that I wear to work all the time...

Well, i like the #2. And I don't think it looks cheap ;-)

I am SO loving #4. I don't own a single thing in an animal print but I've been toying with the idea of integrating it into my wardrobe. I love the bit of classy sassiness a well-done animal print brings to an outfit. Great posting!

I wore a zebra print cardigan from ASOS on my Friday's blog post - love it! I would totally do animal prints, especially in muted or dark colors.

In fact I have two leopard print pencil skirts from F21 which are awesome - hmmm, maybe I'll wear one tomorrow??

i've had this beautiful leopard print cardigan i snagged from my mother's closet. i wore it a lot last spring with black skinny jeans, a black patent belt and t strap sandals. the great thing is it's such a classic piece and so easy to work with you can update it accordingly.

I'm on the fence about these - I think your instincts are spot on :-) J. Crew has, however, done some really tasteful animal prints.

I think they can be cute if worn with a black shirt, jeans, flats, and maybe a gold necklace. I guess they key would be keeping everything else in your outfit simple.

Wow, this list was perfect timing. But reading through, I’ve noticed that I’ve done many of these things already. Still, there were a few new things for me to add to my regime.
