Ask BB: How to Wear a Floral Headband

I love the flowery headpieces that are currently just about everywhere in stores. I purchased a few and now have no idea what to wear with them. What are the best types of pieces of clothing to wear when donning one of these types of bold hair accessories? —A

Floral headbands are among some of the most popular hair accessories out there, and you can pick up affordable versions everywhere from Forever 21 to Etsy.com. I think the sky's the limit as far as how you choose to wear one, but here are some visuals I put together to help you incorporate these fun, feminine pieces into your wardrobe:

Looking back to Fall 2008, Anna Sui featured gorgeous floral headbands which added a lively layer of texture and color to her already exuberant collection.

Taylor Swift is one of the many celebrity fans of ban.do, a line of handmade, high-end hair accessories from two L.A. stylists. Here, Taylor's paired her ban.do beaded floral headband with a tailored black blazer and jeans for a look that's simple and sweet.

Inspiration abounds on Chictopia, which is where I spotted this lovely look that centers on a floral headband and vintage pieces, posted by flairtoremember.

And here's another blogger rocking a floral headband with a totally different approach. Instead of going soft and ethereal, Ely from A Musing of Sorts wears her floral headband with an all black, edgy ensemble.

Moving right along...here are three outfits I put together to give you some more ideas as to how to wear a floral headband (click any set for details):

And to wrap it up...here are my hand-picked favorites for affordable and adorable floral headbands. Browse to your heart's content!

I love headbands! I make a couple every week. I don't get to wear all of them because I love making a elaborate head pieces, and they aren't so appropriate for work or class.

They are such a great way to make an outfit.

GREAT recommendations. I'm drawn to the bits and bobs that I see ladies wearing in their hair, but have been stymied as to how to pull off the look myself. That second set is just perfect!
