Off the Rack: Fall Boots at Target

Off the Rack: Fall Boots at Target

As you've no doubt noticed, Target's shoe department has been inundated with inexpensive boots ranging from classic black riding boots, to Western-inspired Frye knock-offs (above), to slouchy faux-suede knee-highs. I also spotted the token UGG knock-offs as well as a couple of styles of UGG slipper look-alikes. A low-wedge cognac-colored boot caught my eye from afar (vaguely reminiscent of Loeffler Randall), as did a black buckle-embellished moto boot, but both looked especially plastic-y and poorly constructed up close. Overall, with all boots priced under $40, Target did a good job of offering something for everyone, but I was disappointed they didn't have a greater selection of ankle boots and booties. (I did buy these Kalila ankle boots, but they're the only ones I saw.) Maybe more will show up as the season goes on. Which boots will YOU be buying?

I'm really liking the grey suede liked cuffed boots. May have to check those out today. I've been looking for grey boots.

I'm hesitant to buy their shoes; I don't own a lot of everyday shoes, so the ones I have I wear a ton. I feel like Target's lower quality casual shoes (their flats & boots) will wear out quickly and will be uncomfortable. Any thoughts budget babes?

I am still so leery of Target shoes. The pairs I've bought just NEVER hold up ... but those Frye knockoffs are tempting.

I love the first ones! They look like a pair of vintage Fryes that I almost picked up recently.

the ugg inspired slippers are nothing new ;-) been out for at least two years as i remember driving my friend around junior year searching for them! they look nearly identical but obviously don't have the ugg logo (and obviously aren't up to par w the quality, but who cares they're slippers!)

loving the rest of target's selection!

I wish suede was practical in central NY....however with all the rain in the fall then snow/slush in the winter it's really not...otherwise I would have grabbed a pair of the suede heals when I was in Target a few minutes ago. :-(

I did however try on the black ones you posted earlier in the week ...super cute but I had a moment of panic when I went to take them off and the zipper on the back got stuck! I thought I was about to be stuck in the boots forever! I mean, don't get me wrong...I liked them but not THAT much! ;-)

'Talk to Pretty to Me', the Fyre knockoffs in the 1st pic are real leather and cost about $50 at Target. Don't they look great? I'm going to get the Loeffler Randall inspired ones in cognac. I looked at the black ones, but the cognac looks more expensive. The funny thing is that if I saw the cognac Target boots and the Loeffler Randall ones side by side and had to pick the more $$ one, I'd choose the Target ones. They actally look like they cost $350 instead of $35. Most of the time, I think that the 'designer insipired' shoes, purses, dresses, etc look more expensive than the real designer thing!

Thanks for the great pictures! I just placed an order online for the Kaley tall slouch boots in black and the Kady booths in cognac and I'm glad I got a chance to see what they look like "IRL" and not just on the Target site. I'm really excited for them though- I got BOGO50%, free shipping, and a $5 coupon code so it turned out to be less than $48 for 2 pairs of boots! Although seeing the Kaley boots in grey makes me want to buy those too! =P

I have the Frye's those top boots are knocking off, and they are really good imitations. I ordered the slouch/buckle boots in both cognac and black, but I never order online unless I have seen them in person and tried them on. Target has BY FAR the highest quality, most comfortable shoes at this price point.

I actually did buy the cognac boots, wanting the black slouchy "suede" boots. I must have hit Target on the first day the boots were out b/c I tried on the Frye knockoffs, thought Id give myself a few days to think about purchasing them...and now they are all gone from the store! When I went back a few days later it looked like a mob had came thru on the boot display, lol.

dangerous! if it wasn't for your post i wouldn't have dropped like $60+ on boots just now.
