I listen to my mom by taking my vitamins and I limit my dairy/meat intake.
#2 Liz on 2009-09-28 09:07
Love the watch. Self-care tip: Vaseline! For my lips, skin, even a really deep hair conditioning treatment. It is magic and cheap. ;-)

Keeping my toenails painted. It always helps me feel put-together.

"Let Go, Let God."
#6 katie on 2009-09-28 09:23
My self-care tip is to not stress out about the things I can't control. Stress leads to all sorts of bad things like over-eating, breakouts, and weight gain... relieving stress helps me cut back on all of those things!
#7 Sarah on 2009-09-28 09:31
As a mom, I think it's really important to find a little time for yourself every day. Whether it's taking a walk by yourself or just putting on your makeup and doing your hair, find something to do just for yourself. A happy mommy is a great mommy!
#8 Georgia on 2009-09-28 09:54
I exercise and take vitamins on a regular
basis. Cute watch!
#9 Carmen Austin on 2009-09-28 10:09
I try to stay relaxed and do yoga to reduce stress, as well as drinking LOTS of water so that my body runs smoothly.
#10 Erin on 2009-09-28 10:37
One day a week I take a complete vacation day. This means - I do that day exactly what I would do on vacation - whether its read by the pool, hang out at the beach, go out to eat, be a tourist...That's the day of the week I let everything else go and I PLAY!
#11 Jamie on 2009-09-28 10:49
Drink lots of water! It'll keep you hydrated and your skin clear! :-D
#12 Nicole on 2009-09-28 11:41
Reflect on your day by making a mental list of everything you've accomplished and everything that you're thankful for...as you're getting ready to go to sleep.
#13 Veronica on 2009-09-28 11:46
I walk my dogs everyday, so even if I don't have the time to make it to the gym I'm still getting some exercise and my dogs are too!!
#14 Jessica on 2009-09-28 11:47
I try to limit my intake of processed and unnaturally-dyed foods. Starting a tiny organic garden on the patio has made it easier for me to reach for tomato instead of a gummy bear.
#15 Lori on 2009-09-28 13:15
I take multivitamins daily, eat vegetables and fruits, and avoid unhealthy foods.
#16 l i s a on 2009-09-28 13:27
Restricting meat choices to chicken and prawn. Working out 3 times a week. Getting yearly physical checkups.
#17 Reshma on 2009-09-28 13:45
I try not to eat processed food, take multi-vitamins and jog at least 3x a week.
#18 Celi on 2009-09-28 13:51
I try to avoid all the processed foods, drink 8 glasses of water a day (or a 2 liter bottle full of water) and exercise every chance I get. That usually means taking the stairs instead of the escalator, or walking somewhere instead of driving.
#19 Jennifer on 2009-09-28 14:20
My best tip is to find joy in your own life--my mother has always said, "Nothing ages you more than bitterness; avoid it at all costs." Even when things are rough, it's important to find happiness in our own lives.
#20 Emily on 2009-09-28 14:28
I do a face mask twice a week to keep my skin clear and make sure to drink lots of water!
#21 Kristina on 2009-09-28 14:53
I go to the doctor once a year for blood tests and advice. Gives me a peace of mind and keeps me aware of how I am feeling.
#22 Cat on 2009-09-28 16:08
The best self care I have is spending time talking with my sisters at least two to three times a week since we're several states apart. I also drink lots of water and leading a vegan lifestyle has helped me get a lot healthier.
#23 Laura on 2009-09-28 16:58
Once a day, no matter how busy I am, I give myself 10 minutes to sit quietly and do nothing. It quiets my mind and prepares me for the day.
#24 Lauren on 2009-09-28 18:52
use hydrating body wash! sometimes i forget or am too lazy to lotion after my shower, and this way i don't feel that bad
#25 Julia on 2009-09-28 19:46
I put SPF every day since my skin has gotten more and more sensitive to the sun over the years. I'm trying to get physically active again and it's proved to be harder than expected but at least I'm pushing forward :-) Pedi's and walking my dog are always a plus!
#26 Maria on 2009-09-28 22:51
When I was growing up my mom used to constantly tell me: let ur eyes rest. Now, as a grown woman, I look for mere moments to let my eyes rest and when I do, I feel so relaxed and happy and for a moment, a child, once again. =)
#27 Salmeen on 2009-09-29 00:02
Seeing my mom and both grandmother's battle different cancer's I have to say (but not take credit): I remember yesterday, live for today and think about tomorrow.
#28 sharon on 2009-09-29 02:43
Self-Care: Caring for others means caring for yourself. Spread the knowledge because doing so can only make you a better and healthier person.
#29 Tahrer on 2009-09-29 03:02
Finding time to relax and drinking lots of water. :-)
#30 Kim on 2009-09-29 11:42
I drink a cup of green tea every day, and also drink lots of water.
#31 mj on 2009-09-29 11:48
I treat myself to a glass of red vino a few nights a week. Not only are there documented health benefits, but it is a great way to relax after a stressful day at work.
#32 Caroline on 2009-09-29 12:12
I take vitamins, exercise, and try to get enough sleep.
#33 Nicole on 2009-09-29 13:37
I get enough sleep and try to eat lots of produce. I went on vacation this week and ate at a lot of greasy restaurants. Even after a 12 hour drive home I still had to stop at the grocery store and get some apples before I went home, because I couldn't stand how gross I felt full of just carbs and meat!
#34 Kelly (Homepage) on 2009-09-29 14:13
Eat, sleep, relax at home and chill.
#35 Teresa on 2009-09-29 22:13
I eat alot of fiber to reduce my cholesterol and exercise at least three times a week, maybe more times when I have more free time. I try to eat a balanced meal every time I eat.
#36 Tina on 2009-09-29 23:49
I stick to no more than 2 or 3 servings of alcohol a week. Research shows that increased consumption of alcohol can increase breast cancer risks. I also do a monthly breast exam!
#37 jasmine lew (Homepage) on 2009-09-30 07:58
I use lemon juice to help even out my skin tone
#38 l. higginbotham on 2009-09-30 11:09
My favorite self-care tip is to stay active and eat 5 healthy meals a day. That's definitely the best way to keep you from gaining excess weight and helps you to lose unwanted fat.
#39 Maribel Carrasquillo on 2009-09-30 13:24
Mine is to indulge in a piece of chocolate once and awhile.
#40 Naomi P (Homepage) on 2009-09-30 15:28
GET ENOUGH SLEEP. If you need an alarm clock to wake up at the right time, you are not getting enough. Being tired adversely affects every cell in your body!
#41 Lynne on 2009-09-30 15:37
I find things to keep me active. Whether that means going to school, going to church, or spending time with friends and family. I make sure that I enjoy life (because you only have one). I feel that if you do things right the first time, then one life is enough. A positive support system is the best self care system.
#42 Danyel on 2009-09-30 22:01
I'm a diabetic so I make sure to check my sugar twice a day and take my medicine like I'm supposed to. Nice watch!
#43 Evelyn Hitchfiel (Homepage) on 2009-10-01 01:58
Self Care tip, alsways cleanse your face day, and night. Then follow up with a moisture cream. You'll love the feel of your skin in no time. And always, always, get enough water and sleep. You will see the difference in your face, and how you feel.

Good Luck.-

3. I am quittig smoking!!! and finally feel like excersing.
#46 Kay Robinson on 2009-10-02 18:09
My mom is a breast cancer survivor and it was a very difficult period of time but with treatments and a lot of support she has been blessed to be cancer free for 10 years, so it is very important to do self brest exams and have mamograms each year.
#47 Dena Patterson on 2009-10-02 20:29
The most important self-care tip is also the most basic - get enough sleep! It's the most important staple for keeping yourself looking and feeling healthy.
#48 Kelly Cosby on 2009-10-03 22:55
The self-care tip I live by is to make sure I put aside enough time for a full night of sleep everyday.
