Ask BB: Frye "Carmen" Tall Harness Boot Look for Less

Do you know of any cheaper options to the Frye "Carmen" tall harness boot? Love the style, hate the price! —Tweet from @vanessarenae

I get your dilemma as I, too, am a huge Frye fan but $398 is a lot to drop on one pair of boots, in one shot. Sure, they'll last a lifetime but if you don't have the cash in the bank, you just don't have the cash.

If you want to spend less than the Fryes but still buy an investment piece, head to Vintage Shoe Company, where they've been handcrafting fine leather footwear in the United States since 1883. That's right, they produce all of their shoes out of a factory in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania. If money weren't a thing, I'd get these in a heartbeat. Works of art, they are. ($295)

Dana Kellin for Target Lookbook

Dana Kellin for Target Lookbook

Yet another Target lookbook has dropped today, this time for Dana Kellin jewelry, which we've been looking forward to since June. Dana Kellin for Target reflects the jewelry designer's delicate aesthetic and features elegant stone combinations in an assortment of necklaces and earrings. The collection embodies the essence of Dana's refined style of mixing metals with colorful stones in hues of deep blue, teal green, soft pink and rich purple. Ranging in price from $9.99 to $49.99, the Dana Kellin for Target collection will be available Oct. 30 through Dec. 29, 2011 at all Target stores and Target.com.

I've been really impressed with Target's jewelry lately and this collection is no exception. It's not my style per se but I can imagine lots of women loving it. And since I still have wedding stuff on my mind, I think these pieces would look fabulous on bridesmaids.

Albertus Swanepoel for Target Lookbook

Another Target collab we heard about in June was a hat collection by milliner Albertus Swanepoel, and now we have our first look at the line.

The Albertus Swanepoel for Target collection includes 14 colorful and stylish hats for women that feature a blend of vintage appeal mixed with details such as feathers and ribbon. The pieces are each priced at $19.99 and will be available Oct. 30 through Dec. 22, 2011 at all Target stores and Target.com. The collection includes fedoras, cloches and floppies in solid felt, printed felt and faux fur.

It kinda looks like Target showed Swanepoel their hat options for fall and then asked him to tweak them within certain set parameters, like, you can add a ribbon here or change the print there. It doesn't really look designed from the ground up, if that makes any sense. Still, I love wearing hats - one of the easiest, most affordable ways to add style to an otherwise uninteresting outfit - so I'll definitely check these out. The leopard number above and the two-tone fedora right after the jump are two of my faves.

The Look for Less: Miu Miu Glitter Flutter Booties

This find comes to us from readers Brit and Tess of Belle Époque - be sure to check out their fab blog if you haven't already!

Miu Miu's open-toe glitter ankle boots are $890 at Nordstrom, and come in yellow/silver or black/silver.

Charlotte Russe has the look for less with their pleated velvet glitter bootie, available in blush/silver or black/silver for $42.50. Click either image to shop.

Ok, confession time: I'd wear the Charlotte Russes around my town but not in NYC or somewhere where they'd be recognized, they're such an obvious knockoff that I'd be embarrassed. But that's just me. Would you wear these?
