Oh, Target, I can't seem to walk in your doors without a quick stop in the dollar aisle! And now that I have a little tot, I have a feeling I'll be spending way more time and money in your hallowed bins. Today I picked up a sand bucket and shovel, squishy caterpillar toy and a bubble gun for my little man, who just recently started WALKING (gasp) and who naps Benjamin-Franklin style in brief 15-20 minute spurts (which is why you may notice a lull in my blog posts from time-to-time). Anyways, you guys told me the dollar bins were great for moms, and I can already see it becoming our go-to spot for craft supplies and rainy day toys and so much more! Aside from kiddie stuff, I bought some gingham paper plates and white storage bins. I also spotted some lovely new stationary, herb growing kits, glitter tubes, and outdoor entertaining gear. As soon as May 1st hits, I start prepping for the summer season ahead, whether it’s collecting recipe and cocktail ideas or buying décor pieces that add fun bursts of color inside the house and the patio. Albeit I live in Los Angeles and it is 75 degrees year-round, the summers in Los Angeles are the perfect time to host dinner parties on the patio and get lost in a book on a comfortable chaise lounge. Other than try and soak in every minute of relaxation we can (it’s all about the small luxuries, right?), we love to spend time on our patio and deck since we’ve made them an extension of our home. My husband and I almost exclusively eat dinner on our patio and drink our morning coffee on our lounge furniture during the summer months.

I recently got the opportunity to try out a ton of products from Salma Hayek’s drugstore line Nuance! I’ve always seen Nuance on the shelves at my local CVS pharmacy but never picked one up to test myself. One awesome thing to note about the Nuance by Salma Hayek line—there is NO animal testing! A major yes! There were some real winners in the bunch, and a few that didn’t make the cut.
