Review: Her Fashion Box

Her Fashion Box review

I recently had the opportunity to try out Her Fashion Box, a monthly subscription that delivers a beautifully-wrapped package of fashion and beauty products right to your door—and all the way from Australia!

Having only ever subscribed to Birchbox, which focuses solely on beauty products, I was eager to try something a little different! Here’s what Her Fashion Box’s website says:

“Every month, you’ll receive a beautifully packaged Her Fashion Box to your home or office! Inside will be on-trend fashion accessories tailored to your style profile, as well as a number of carefully selected beauty products or deluxe size samples from high-end, boutique and cult brands from around the world. Each month will be a different mix of beauty products, ranging from makeup, skincare, fragrances, body, hair, and nail. In addition to your fashion accessory and beauty products or samples, Her Fashion Box will bring you products, samples or offers from premium lifestyle brands that could include things such as gorgeous stationery, luxury candles, beauty or spa services, hair and make-up tools, gourmet food or wine tasters, cute home wares, online products, entertainment and more.”

Sounds fabulous, right? I wasn’t disappointed when I picked up the cheery bright pink package from the post office...unfortunately, I was let down once I dug into my Her Fashion Box. Behind some seriously high-quality packaging were some seriously low-quality products.

Lets open Her up, shall we?

The Look for Less: Equipment Sleeveless Blouse

Equipment's signature sleeveless blouse in silk is $178 at SHOPBOP.COM.

Target has a great look for less option by Merona right now, available in a variety of solids and pretty prints (see how they look in real life in this post). Shop these for just $19.99 each at TARGET.COM.

Off the Rack: Sandal Sale and Summer Fashion Highlights at Target

This blogger photographs cute stuff she sees at Target!

While I'd like to think I don't bark at my readers like a used car salesman to buy things, today I am totally going to be an enabler because Target is having a big summer sale on shoes and cute fashions that you obviously need. Sandals are buy one, get one half off, and select ballet flats are 2 for $30. Plus, button-down cotton shirts are $17, down from $23, (the ones that look very J.Crew - I bought the pineapple print one, thanks to Tracy's Notebook of Style for "making" me buy it!)

The Look for Less: Valentino 'Rockstud' Jelly Flip-Flop Sandal

Jelly sandals are back this summer, but if you want to go the high-fashion route, you'll want Valentino's studded take on the trend ($295, NEIMANMARCUS.COM).

For babes on a budget, try Wet Seal's knockoff, just $12.90 in black or nude at WETSEAL.COM. Click either image for more details!
