Welcome back to Fashion Capsule! In this weekly segment, I will show you how to style three items under $50 for an entire week’s worth of outfits. This week’s outfits were all inspired by Netflix’s new series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, which (of course) I binge-watched. This series is a prequel to the cult hit, Wet Hot American Summer released in 2001. Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that these outfits were inspired by the dorky characters in this comedy. I wouldn’t recommend wearing these outfits outside of an ‘80’s summer camp movie! Also, spoiler alert: This post has some details about the show that might give away some plot twists and turns. No worries, however, this post won’t make the show any less fun and enjoyable for you. That being said, let’s get started!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not ready for summer to end just yet. But these hot, hazy days of August always take me back to my childhood and those final few free days of summer vacation when my parents would take me to pick out clothes for the new school year. The annual ritual continued at home where I'd spend hours deciding exactly what to wear on that all-important first day. I had a new wardrobe, and in many ways, fall fashion rung in the new year more than any resolution set in January ever did. What's black and white and fab all over? Nicky Hilton's latest ensemble of course! The newlywed recently stepped out in this outfit, inspiring style envy with her laidback luxurious look. Hilton chose to pair an oversized blouse with fitted, cuffed shorts, mirrored sunglasses and stylish black leather accessories to give off serious simple chic vibes. What I love about this look is that it combines simple pieces — many of which you may have in your closet — and manages to look extremely stylish!
