The Look for Less: Chanel Nail Color in Particuliere

The Look for Less: Chanel Nail Color in Particuliere

Chanel has three new coveted nail colors out for spring 2010, including Chanel Particuliere Le Vernis Nail Colour, a color that can be described at "mushroom," "taupe" or "putty." This affordable luxury (oxymoron intended) can be yours for $23 a bottle at uma.chanel.com.

The Look for Less: Chanel Nail Color in Particuliere

If you want to try this color for less, People StyleWatch offers a great dupe in the February 2010 issue: It's the Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish in Commander in Chic by Sally Hansen, $7.99 at Ulta.com (or look for it in drugstores). Maybe I'm just smitten by this color because Chanel says it's chic, but I definitely can't wait to get my hands on a creamy putty polish for Spring! If anyone has any suggestions for a similar color, I'm all ears.

Comments
O.P.I's Fiji Wiji Fawn opi looks just like that! Also I suspect that O.P.I.'s quality is better, I think Sally Hansen polish is always too sheer, you never get that matte color like a Chanel manicure.

Cheers,
Stephanie

Also, Le Blog De Sushi did a great post on this particular nail color back in October:

I recently purchased a very similar color at my local Walgreens after reading about this new "it" color in People: StyleWatch. Here's a great picture of Kelly at Vampy Varnish showing off Rimmel London's "Steel Grey":

Bought the Sally Hansen color yesterday and love it. The applicator is flatter and wider so it's easier to get a good coat on. Dries without bubbles, but I ended up using three coats as it's somewhat sheer.

The Commander in Chic is a great color! I put it on my toes last night. I think this color will be the belle of the ball this year. It's different and super chic. It's a distinguishing factor! And the brush is very user friendly!

I just picked up an OPI for Sephora polish called Under My Trench (I think thats what it is called) last weekend at Sephora. It's the perfect mushroom taupe that has just a hint of shimmer in it. I'm officially obsessed :-)

I love the color! All of Austin, TX must read your blog because my store had 12 of each of the other shades but were sold out of this one!

I love it!!! My mom got it for $1.29 because the cashier couldn't scan it, and got mad. But 2 coats does the job really well, and the quality is better than the other fingernail polishes I own. THE COLOR IS AMAZING! I always have trouble finding the right color, but I am so thankful that you posted pictures of it on your nails because we have the same skin tone.

BUTTER london is an amazing brand that is 3 Free (none of the 3 major toxins that are found in many nail polish brands).

http://www.butterlondon.com/lacquers/choose/72

Their color Fash Pack is very similar to the Chanel color. It's a bit expensive ($14) but cheaper than the Chanel version and without the toxins. It's a mushroom, putty color with just a hint of bronze. i love it.
