Deal du Jour: Clinique Bonus at Macy's

It's Clinique Bonus Time at Macy's!

got it yesterday. i was actually the first one in line (quite by accident - i think it's sad that people actually wait for the doors to open, don't you?) so instead of being rushed bcuz there's 40 people giving you looks if you don't have a written list of things to buy, i got to talk with the consultant and get a couple of good recommendations. Don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when they apply the blush in the store it always looks lovely. when i do it at home i look like Bozo the Clown. here's why: if you use a foundation, since it's liquid, the powder sticks to it. use a little transparent powder and the blush won't stick and you get a softer look.
ta da!
anyway, the special is good bcuz the sizes are bigger than usual for the yellow stuff and eye makeup remover and the lipstick is not crappy pinky-yellow frost like some of them are. tenderheart can be worn with just about anything and looks good on just about everybody. plus you get not one, not 2, but 3 !!!!! makeup bags (because we don't have any clinique bags at home, do we?). don't you wish that they'd give more makeup instead of the stupid bags already!

We use the liner in Tenderheart, too. Perfect shade for lips.

Re: the bags. We have WAY too many of them, too, most sit unused in our closet. So one of these days, we're going to do a call for Clinique makeup bags, fill them with makeup (any sponsors??) and donate them to a charitable cause. We're thinking of sending them to this fistula hospital for women and young girls in Africa (covered it for Oprah.com).

Feel free to share any other creative ideas for what to do with all those bags!

i saw that show, and so did my husband. we gave them money. now they have a new oprah wing (that's what it's called i think) thanks to that show.
that lady doctor who started it is right up there with mother teresa in my book.
that's a great idea, bb!
i'll start saving them then!

Weren't you brought to tears? (btw, we're speaking about the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia.) The founder, Dr. Catherine Hamlin, is truly a modern day saint. Save those bags, we'll deliver on this promise some day!
