This past Wednesday, I was invited to the LOFT Fall 2010 Preview Party at the Bowery Hotel in New York City to preview the Fall 2010 collection and check out the launch of LOFT Style Studio—a collaboration with four leading fashion stylists: Alia Ahmed-Yahia, Kate Young, Tina Chai, and Joanne Blades. The collection included separates, dresses, outerwear, shoes and accessories, with each item priced under $100, except for the shoes. I need the over-the-knee leather boots ($198, of course I go for the most expensive item in the entire collection!).
Everything seemed easy to mix and match—Chanel-esque tweed jackets, flattering pencil skirts, gamine-striped cardigans, watercolor florals, in a mostly black, white and gray palette along with muted pinks and a couple rich colors like yellow, red and purple thrown in for good measure. Modern-luxe details like flower pins, cloche hats, skinny belts, faux-fur trim, statement cuffs (we each got one in our goodie bags), and pearl embellished necklines added that extra something.
LOFT understands how women today want to dress for work and beyond. Almost makes me wish I still worked in an office!
Celebs in attendance included Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alexis Bledel, Mena Suvari, Alexa Chung and the band Ra Ra Riot. Didn't actually see any of them but nice to know they were there.
Keep reading to see all my pics of the collection, which will be available beginning in August in stores and at www.loftonline.com. Personally I love the direction LOFT is heading. Let me know what you think in the comments!

With that being said, and looking beyond the horrible styling, I think its a great line. Its gone urban which might be harder to sell in middle America though.
I guess my only gripe with the Loft at the moment is that their quality has deteriorated. Prices are low but the product is not as fab as it used to be. I actually haven’t taken a client shopping at the Loft for 18 months. But I’m holding out hope that the quality is back on track for Autumn! After all, a retailer gets a fresh start each season :0)
Thanks for sharing!
Do you ever do fashion reviews for Plus size?
Thanks

Also, I've been disappointed by their lack of work appropriate attire...too many t-shirts and deconstructed looks. Fall 2010 looks like more of the same in drab colors.
