Have you seen any ideas for short sleeve jackets, cardigans and other cover ups for summer work clothing? I'm looking for quick cover up ideas for tank tops at work that would keep things cool but still be professional. —Johanna

I like the way you think, Johanna: When I worked in an office, summer dressing was all about tank tops or tees, dark jeans and cute jackets that I could toss on in the elevator as I rode up to the floor I worked on. Here are couple affordable styles that recently caught my eye which would be perfect for summer office dressing:

1. Gingham Crinkled Jacket, sale $14.99 at FOREVER 21. This chic little jacket would go great with pearls for a Chanel-esque look.


2. White Short-Sleeve Blazer, $49 at DILLARDS. Crisp white looks polished and perfect for summer sophistication -- a summer must-have in short or long sleeves.

3. Nautical Striped Blazer, sale $59.99 at THE LIMITED. Totally on trend yet an instant classic at the same time!



4. Gray Blazer, sale $60 at ANTHROPOLOGIE. Not quite black, this dark gray blazer says business but is still relaxed and fashionable.



5. Cropped Cardigan, sale $19.99 at EXPRESS. Add a bright colorful cardigan to your wardrobe to toss over summer dress for business casual environments. Too cute!

Great ideas, esp. that gingham cropped jacket. Looks somewhat Chanel-esque. I can see that entering my wardrobe and lots of drippy chain necklaces. Which may be cliche, but I still like the idea.

Great tips BB! I especially like the idea of the bright cardigans, as they are really one of the easiest items anyone can wear in their wardrobe.
