Adventures in Online Shopping: Lands' End Canvas

Lands End Canvas Review

A little while back, the folks at Lands' End Canvas sent me a $100 giftcard and I have been living in my Lands' End Canvas duds pretty much all summer. Their summer sale is going on now so I thought I better stop holding out on you guys and let you know about my fantastic finds. (Not really holding out, I just like to thoroughly road test clothing before I recommend anything!) Here, I present to you my summer wardrobe staples:

The first item I settled on were these Canvas Cargo Pants in Steel Gray (I paid $49.50; they're now on sale for $36.50). I wanted an alternative to jeans for the hot weather and these have proven to be the perfect substitute.

Left: Forever 21 plaid shirt, Lands' End Canvas cargos, Cynthia Vincent for Target sandals; Merona for Target straw tote. Right: Lands' End Canvas striped tank top, Uniqlo cardigan, Lands' End Canvas cargos, Cynthia Vincent for Target sandals, Merona for Target tote

They're sturdy, slouchy, stylish and made from cool 100% cotton. I wear them with sneaks when I'm walking my dog and with flat sandals everywhere else. You can't really "dress them up" but they will fill in any outfit where you'd normally wear chinos or khakis. Love!

The next item I purchased were these Canvas Utility Shorts in Gull Gray. (I paid $34.50; they're now on sale for $24.99). Again, I couldn't be happier. These fit great, they look like grown-up shorts but they're not completely void of style.

Left: H&M silk shirt, Lands' End Canvas shorts, Cynthia Vincent for Target wedge sandals, vintage purse, gifted Chico's necklace. Right: Forever 21 fedora, tee and belt, Lands' End Canvas shorts, Old Navy leather bag, Cynthia Vincent for Target sandals

I reach for these shorts anytime temps soar into the 80s and 90s. They've given me confidence to wear shorts again because they're comfortable, flattering and go with everything. I sense a trend here...

To use up the remainder of my giftcard, I got two striped tank tops for $10 each. I'm wearing one of them in the top right photo with the cargos and coral cardigan. They have a nice weight, fit and feel and wash well. Definitely a good value.

Ordering was simple, delivery time was average. The icing on the cake was a personalized handwritten thank you card I received about a week after I got my items from a customer service rep, totally unrelated to me being a blogger, just something they send to everyone as a way to say thanks and to reiterate their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Classy!

In conclusion, I will definitely be ordering from Lands' End Canvas again. I wear so much fast fashion that it's refreshing to put on clothes that feel like they might actually last a couple seasons of wear and tear, and they're classic enough never to go out of style. What a novel idea!

Love all looks! I just got 2 pairs of cargo pants myself (1 khaki and 1 grayish green). You're absolutely right, they are the perfect sub for jeans! Thanks for your great posts & ideas!

I've been buying Land's End Canvas stuff since they opened. I've returned a few things but mostly I've been happy. Right now I'm waiting for a couple of swimsuits to arrive in the mail... hopefully they'll work out.

wow! cute cargos! i think i might order a pair and check out what other things are in the sale. I also like the shorts, but I just bought a few pair so I'll have to see how those work out.

How did you find that the sizing ran? TTS? Was it consistent with any particular other brands you frequently wear?

Runs true to size, similar to Gap maybe(?) Fit is more like misses/women, not juniors. Hope that helps.

Those pants and shorts look better on you than they do the model. Thanks for this great review.

Use the size charts provided on the website to ensure a proper fit. You'll see a little link that says "size chart" above the sizes for every product listing. Here's a direct link:

That's your best bet! Hope this helps.
