Spot the Real: The Dinah by Cynthia Vincent Gladiator Sandal

Cynthia Vincent at ShopStyle

It's time for a fashion taste test: One of the purple gladiator thong sandals shown here is The Dinah by Cynthia Vincent, which costs $150 on sale at The Shoe Box. The other shoe is by Mossimo, and sells for $19.99 at Target.com. Can you spot the real from the steal? Take a guess, then click the images to find out which is which!

I guessed it right (only because I own CV's and I know what the inside tag looks like...is that cheating?)

Both are ADORABLE!

nope, not cheating - it's good to train your eye to spot little details like that! :-)

Second one is Target. Absolutely. :-D And I know this because I know Target soles. I can recognize that dark brown sold anywhere.

That's exactly why I knew the second pair was Target, too!

I love Cynthia Vincent, but I looking at this photo, the gladiators from target are much cuter. And what a great color. I may pick up a pair the next time I am there. Good to know. Thanks for the post.

i agree with you. I kinda like the dark sole better so I'd go with the target version.

I guessed correctly, from the quality of the sole and the looks of the buckles, but really they are practically identical!

Unfortunately, the tag gives it away, and the top one is obviously the Vincent sandal. And from the way they are photographed, the Mossimo one actually looks richer, lusher...but you have to be careful about the way Target styles their photos. I did a similar blog post last month and was really disappointed to find out that in real life, the materials of the Mossimo sandals were cheap and shoddy.

Totally, you can only tell so much by a product photo online. sometimes things look better in person, sometimes they look worse!

I guessed the right one but also agree that a darker sole is better...Especially for walking city streets. I'm also sure when you see these in store they would be very different.

I have these exact type of sandals in black that I got a few months ago at Mandee for $24. I feel so on trend!

I can't believe it's still available on target.com! It's selling for $17.99 now.
