Beauty Review: EOS Natural Lip Balms

After a reader left a comment on one of my posts saying how much she loves her eos lip balms, I had to try them for myself! I received two complimentary lip balms to test out and review courtesy of eos: The eos Smooth Sphere in Sweet Mint and the eos Smooth Stick in Pomegranate Raspberry. Does eos live up to its reputation as "the lip balm that makes you smile"? Keep reading to find out...

What they say: "Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth."

- USDA-certified organic (95% certified organic ingredients)
- 100% natural
- Petrolatum and paraben-free
- Soft-touch, recyclable packaging in vibrant sophisticated colors
- Gluten-free
- Not tested on animals

What I thought: The first thing that draws you in to these lip balms is the adorable packing. It's cheerful, modern, colorful and cute. The sphere is certainly unique and I love how easy it is to apply, one stroke and you've basically covered your entire pout. The novelty alone makes these a winner!

But the product is high-quality, too, keeping lips smooth and moisturized without any funky fragrance, taste or color, making these a perfect everyday lip balm you can reapply often and liberally. EOS lip balms are just the thing I need this time of year when it's cold and windy outside to keep my lips from cracking. And when I'm inside sipping tea, I don't have to worry about eating toxic chemicals.

The mint has a light minty scent, natural and fresh. The pomegranate raspberry smells mostly like beeswax, which I like. Both glide on smooth, clear and relatively matte (not glossy).

There's really nothing not to like about these except that they're a little big, so you can't really stash them in the pocket of your skinny jeans or a tiny evening purse. On the flip side, they're easy to find in a big hobo bag or the glove compartment of your car. Different lip situations call for different lip balms.

I think eos lip balms would make a great stocking stuffer this holiday season, just be sure to get a couple for yourself! One stroke and you'll be smiling.

I have a yellow egg-shaped one that is lemon scented/flavored. It's yummy and I love that the top screws on so I don't have to worry about it coming open in my purse, but I have seriously dry, flaky lips and the lip balm itself is nothing to write home about.

I agree. I was really excited by the marketing but the lip balm part was meh. I feel like I have to reapply a lot of keep my lips moist, opposed to Burt's Bees where I can apply once in the morning and last through to lunch.

I love Eos lipbalms, they're my tip top of the list favorite. Sweet mint is the best, but lemon is a very close second. I love that it's not sticky or tacky, it always goes on smooth and I'm pretty liberal with it. I like the sphere packaging, I can always find it when digging in my purse.

I've been using the EOS lip balms for a few months now and I love it! Glides on really smooth and the packaging is simply adorable.

I'm so glad they have a stick now, I was hesitant to try the sphere because it looks kind of cumbersome to me. I'll be heading to Walgreens/CVS ASAP :-)

Hmmm... I have the driest lips on the planet so I'm not sure these will do the trick (I can't seem to find anything that will help - carmex, burts bees, blistex medicated...) But they are really cute looking and the lemon sounds fab - same with the mint! Have you tried the Pomegranate Berry lip balm at NY&Co? My all-time favorite 'tasting' lip balm lol ;-) I'll have to be on the lookout for these when I'm out next time.

For those with EXTREMELY cracked/sore/dry lips I have to suggest "Dr. Dan's Cortibalm". Google it and you can find it online, as well as in most dermatologists' offices. I used it when I was on Accutane, and I continue to have a tube handy during the height of winter. ($11.22 for a three pack on Amazon...generally $4-5 bucks for a tube.)
