Beauty Review: 100 Percent Pure Mint White Tea Skin Care

For the past month, I've replaced my daily skin care routine with complimentary products from 100% Pure, a natural, organic cosmetics and skincare line. I'm always on the look out for affordable, effective products that have a limited number of unnecessary or potentially harmful chemicals, so I was eager to give this line a try. Find out what I thought after the jump!

What they say: 100% Pure is a natural, organic cosmetics and skincare line. Our products are truly 100% pure, meaning that they are healthy, nourishing and never contain any synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, chemical preservatives or any other toxins. We are also a green company. Our pure, biodegradable formulas are packaged with post-consumer recycled materials and are printed with biodegradable non-toxic vegetable ink. 100% Pure loves animals as well! We are cruelty-free and are passionately against animal cruelty and charitable towards animal welfare.

What I thought: Here are the products I tested:

  • Mint White Tea cleanser ($19.00)

  • Mint White Tea tonic ($19.00)

  • Mint White Tea moisturizer ($28.00)

  • Raspberry Sorbet lip gloss ($15.00)

The first thing you notice about 100% Pure products is the pretty packaging. It's simple and clean and looks good in your bathroom (hey, presentation matters!).

Next, as you begin to use the products, you notice the lack of strange dyes and fragrances. First up, the cleanser. I love the easy to use pump, which dispenses just enough delicate white foam to wash your face. This foam deflates quickly and doesn't create a big lather, but it does the job beautifully. Just wash, rinse and you're done. Your skin feels clean but not tight. This is a great mild cleanser, I've been using it every night before bed and my skin feels refreshed and basically just like itself, not irritated and not overly dry.

I'll usually follow up the cleanser with the moisturizer. One or two pumps is all I need. Again, it has a delicate white creamy texture and light clean scent. This isn't the best moisturizer I've ever tried but it's a solid product. It doesn't leave skin oily but rather it almost leaves your skin feeling a tiny bit tighter. The best word I can use to describe it is "clean" - it's a very light, clean moisturizer for most skin types.

On days when I just want to refresh my skin, I reach for the tonic. I love this stuff. It's been ages since I've used a tonic but I love having it around. It's a great option when you don't feel like washing your face but just want to remove excess oil and dirt and give skin a little pick-me-up. This one's non-irritating and not very harsh or drying. Love it.

Finally there's the raspberry sorbet lip gloss. It kinda smells and feels like the oil in Vitamin E capsules. It's subtle and I like it because Vitamin E was always my grandmother's secret beauty fix for just about everything related to skin, from her lips to cuticles. Don't know what Vitamin E feels like? Think MAC lipglass. It's thick and glassy, not sticky, giving lips a gorgeous glossy look that feels wonderful. It comes off easily if you eat or drink but that's to be expected. The fruit pigmented color was surprisingly pretty and vibrant. Knowing I can eat it and it won't kill me is a plus, too, hah!

Overall I was pleasantly surprised with my 100% Pure products and I would definitely buy from them in the future. I tried some sample size body lotions, too, and those had very strong scratch-and-sniff fragrances that you'll either love or find overpowering, just an FYI. But the Mint Tea line is clean, fresh and works as promised. Looking forward to seeing more from this company in the future.

I've been using 100% Pure for several years (shower gel, body lotion, sugar scrubs) and love them -- they smell so good and the shower gel was the only thing I could find that was gentle enough for my winter eczema. I also like the lack of chemicals and preservatives :-)

I use their shea butter facial moisturizer. I've been using it for 3 years now.
