Off the Rack: The Latest Temptations from Sally Hansen

I seriously can't keep up with all the new products coming out from Sally Hansen lately. During my last trip to Walgreens, I spotted new Salon Effects styles for Valentine's Day and spring, as well as their Gem Crush polishes and new Smooth and Perfect pastels. These have been out for a few months now so hopefully somebody can weigh in on the Smooth and Perfect, which claims to "hide ridges with a breathable, porcelain-smooth finish." In colors like dune, sorbet, sea, linen and fog, and chic square-shape bottles, these polishes certainly sound amazing. Have you tried them yet? Are they worth it?

I'm wearing the pink and brown argyle Sally Hansen Salon Effects right now. I've worn their black and silver argyle as well as their snowflake ones last year and loved them. This newest one isn't as great as the previous, I don't know if I got a bad batch or what, but they don't stick quite as well and I ended up going through several that didn't stick at all. The print seems poorly done too, with visible lines in it. I hope the other ones I bought at the same time are better.

They look awesome. I've never tried Sally Hansen but I think I will soon.

Because the admin of this web page is working, no doubt very rapidly it will be well-known, due to its quality contents.

I bought the pale blue pastel color and it wasn't as opaque as I was hoping...so I had to do about 4 coats to get the color in the bottle. They are really sheer and have a perle finish to them (which is not my favorite). I prefer the Essie & OPI pastels that are more of a creme.

What a bummer, the colors are so pretty but four coats is a lot of effort.

I second the Essie recommendation, their polish and color selection is always great.

oh wow, yeah i have no patience for four coats! that was my experience with revlon's "gum drop" and american apparel's "office" - two pastels that looked perfect in the bottle but didn't deliver. i love essie although i prefer the sally hansen applicators, my fav line is probably the complete salon manicure.

I too am obsessed with nail polish! I have bought every pastel, neon and glitter polish available (or so it seems)
